back home,wife to docs,as shes still ill,,doc sends her to hospital,shes now on drips and anti biotics over night,,just got in 3am,,most of days gone,and i done nothin,,,must get a sarnie and a drink.

Things seem to have improved here. Fires, while not yet classified as "controlled" have been kept away from most residential areas... certainly ours. One of the fires has destroyed something like a dozen structures, some of them homes.

We don't know what to expect in the way of hotter weather again, or gusting winds. But barring that, things will likely trend toward fairly normal.

In our household, we've been on two tracks: maintain normal around-home responsibilities & meals, plus move things to the storage unit in prep for a pending evacuation order. It's made for extra work, confusion, and difficult decisions. I've definitely appreciated the support SF members have shown me.❤️ Never forgetting the posts in General Humor and Funny Cartoons... as far as I'm concerned, a good laugh is extremely welcome in stressful times.

It's past 5pm now... still muggy and overcast..

I've done nothing today aside from what I mentioned before.. and then I made bacon and eggs for lunch....then I brought the emptied recycle bins back in...

I've pretty much sat and wasted most of the afternoon up here in the office room

Went to another small town for groceries. Advertised a senior discount today, but I had to ask for it and prove I was that old. Stopped at a family farm market, got eggs and a variety of fresh vegetables.

Sunny day, nice for a drive. Car A/C blows strong and this trip clocked just over 49 MPG. Not bad for a regular gasoline car over 6 years old now.

I went to that county for a 5 day break last month... and deliberately stayed away from that part , for this very reason, that despite that county having several beautiful beaches.. the lemmings follow each other to Bournemouth beach, and it's just horrific..

I went to the beach at the end of my street July 1st, which is a major holiday here; Canada Day,and the weather was hot & sunny so the beach was packed (by our standards - lol).

I guess I should hang it up for the night because I really gotta get after the nasty weeds tomorrow and there are little zinnia sprouts that I need to thin. Besides, it's b*tch o'clock, and I'm tired. Or as we say in the South "tard."

talkin' of accents, I"m watching this lady on youtube.. 2 things...she's the same age as I am which was a surprise to me..:unsure:.. but secondly she has a great accent... does anybody know where that accent is from ?

Well she told us the other day that she was having her 70th birthday... and this video was made 9 hours ago.... if you click on the YOUTUBe tab on the bottom right it'll open in YT and then bottom left it will tell you when the video was uploaded..
 
~ Handled some business matters online & by phone.

~ Clipped Deja's front and back claws, with the help of my son of course.

~ Refilled pill cases while he & I chatted.

~Called my cousin in Puerto Rico to make sure she's alright after the storm. Turns out she is in the states as I suspected. She was supposed to fly out today but changed it to Friday because of Ernesto.

~ Also had a nice conversation with my granddaughter that included her weekly financial workshop with me.
