Productive consultation meeting with my inguinal hernia surgeon this morning. Had hoped to have that scheduled for November at latest so would have time to heal for my ski season. But he's booked up. So instead will wait till the end of December and schedule it in the late March to early April 2025 period. He didn't know that my superb hematologist doctor had me given a GI tract CT scan done last February. So he brought the CT scan images up on his computer monitor and then since I'm somewhat versed in anatomy, went through anatomical structures involved including specifics to how he will operate installing a synthetic mesh, instead of the usual just finding out what they find after making incisions opening a person up.

Although there is a big art/food/music festival in the city of Santa Clara this coming weekend, their band listing doesn't interest me. Instead will wait to next Sunday and attend the one day in San Francisco, free Haight Ashbury outdoor street art/food/music festival that does include Classic Rock bands. Also a Lynyrd Skynrd, Outlaws, ZZ Top concert about 65 miles away on Thursday I'm only going to commit to if the ticket prices drop from the $45 level they are now at. Have seen those Southern bands several times.

I know it is a very old show, that is probably why I like it so much. Of course, I, like many are great fans of Dame Judi Dench!
yep the first sit-com she did..co-incidentally I have just watched on tv tonight, for the goodness knows how many times around...from 45 years ago. Called A Fine Romance where she played the lead opposite her real life husband Mike ...and my husband was on the production team very early in his career

Co-incidentally I had a call yesterday giving me the 28th of September as the date for my OP.. but I had to turn it down because I have other commitments.. this after waiting 9 months. so they'll arrange another date

@hollydolly I do think it's something I ate because, yanno, get nauseated and convinced that it was the last thing you ate? That's me. I had an egg and toast for breakfast. It was a store brand egg from Publix. I checked the recall list, but eggs aren't on it. They're going in the bin tomorrow anyway.

DD complains from time to time that Publix brand milk often goes bad long before the expiry date.

No more Publix brand eggs or dairy in our house!

Going to bed 🛌

Sometimes you just wonder how people pass a job interview or hang onto their jobs when they seem so inept.

I had a call and the woman said..

''who is this''?.. and I said you called me..who are you?... she replied, tell me your name.

I repeated you called me, you must have known who you were calling.. who do you want....?

She repeats.. what's your name ?.. so I replied.. ''No, tell me who you want and what your name is.. ''

She said I'm Lucy... ..so I say.. Lucy who ?.. she replies with her surname...so I say who do you want?. and she repeats ''who are you ''?.. at this point I'm just about to hang the phone up.. and she says..

''This is the appointment booking clerk at XX hospital''

So I say well why didn't you say that when I answered the phone? Why did this turn into a guessing game''?

You might check into a support garment to keep things from getting worse during ski season! I know they make things of that nature now, kind of like a spanks for men. Might be helpful even after surgery. My husband somehow managed to mess up his first surgery.

Feel better soon, GG. 🌹

Our house is located in the Inland Empire that is surrounded by mountain ranges. Three of them have currently wildfires that are threatening houses, but luckily we are safe.

Santa Ana Mountains "Airport fire"
Airport fire in OC’s Trabuco Canyon grows to 5,432 acres, evacuation warnings spread to Riverside County

San Bernardino Mountains "Line fire"
More than 36,000 homes and structures threatened as Line fire grows to 20,553 acres on Sunday night

San Gabriel Mountains "Bridge fire" out of control

Southern California facing bad air quality, more fire danger

A message from our local legislator Ken Calvert: another 11 massive C-130H air tankers will be permanently employed to fight California's wildfires.

Left: this morning, the sun was mostly hidden by smoke from our current wildfires
Right: our house is right in the center of the wildfire smoke

Because of poor air quality, I don't go on our usual walks. But the pups still need to stretch their legs every now and then. View attachment 366778

Left: my neighbor is getting rid of the jungle that served as a refuge for homeless people. I am feeling sorry for them but (a) they don't clean up the garbage, and (b) many are mentally sick and pose a danger to "normal" folks. -- I am helping my neighbor with my laser level to get the grading done right.
Right: did anyone complain about being "bored?" I would gladly accept any help I can get; I don't have time complaining about being bored. The modern lithium battery operated power tools enable me to keep working even in old age, getting close to 90.

On a happier note, our new Vizio Smart TV's we just bought have supposedly 6,000 free programs. I didn't count them, but they do include my favorite English comedies, "Keeping up Appearances," and the "Benny Hill Shows." The $158 for the 40" TV's were worth buying just for those programs. Tonight I'll search for, "As Time Goes Bye." Thanks for the reminder @Blessed
Love the glow collars! All that work is keeping you young. 🙂

Hope you feel better tomorrow. 🌙

Up and feeling much better after a good night's sleep. It must have been yesterday's breakfast.

Went to sleep so fast and slept so hard that I missed The Great Debate.

It's supposed to be a nice day again today before we get the remnants of the hurricane so I'm going to try to get the coneflower and Canterbury bells seeds planted. If the weathernerds are to be believed, we'll get rain for the next four days starting tomorrow. Can we say skeptical?

morning folks.....55deg out there, up to 85 later on, no rain,
achy, sneezy day today...oh well....I'm wishing i had a personal
secretary, someone to take care of all this cr@p about my
info being part of hacking attacks, this time got two letters
from Medicare, it seems they will be sending me a new card....
wow...answer me this tho, the gov't sez to sign up for credit

Afternoon folks....it's a verrry windy day today dry, but overcast...💨

It's been one of these mornings where I've had to make a raft of calls to various people. Currently I'm 6th in the queue for this last call and I've been holding for 15 minutes so far ..

Pleased your feeling much better today @Georgiagranny ...I think you have the constitution of a horse.. something like that would have laid me low for a few days
