How would you react if see an alien

I think I'd run inside my home, lock the door, panting in fear
Hi thanks Pepper but I have to say interest would get me. I would want to try to communicate learn from this alien. I figure if the alien arrived for war I would not have a chance but if the alien came in peace there would be alot to learn if communication could exist. But so far your answer is most popular

That just happened to us last year. A ship landed at our farm with two aliens aboard their spaceship.

We invited them in for some lemonade and cookies. We had wonderful conversation and they went home. Nice meeting people from far away places. :)

Was watching some old Sci-Fi late show last night. Made me think of what I would do how I would react if I seen an alien in my backyard. How would you react my friends if you entered your back yard and there standing in front of you was an alien. Just asking but what would you do?

Well, first off unless they beamed down (using same beam many say are used to take abductees to their crafts) i think even a small quiet shuttle would likely set off all the dogs in the area, which would alert me. Before i stepped out. Depending on size of shuttle or craft my meadow or neighbors' fields would be attractive landing spots.

Secondly, very unlikely my grand dog would not have cued me to any kind of stranger on yard. So if beamed down i'd still have a clue while still inside. Either way, my curiosity would be aroused, would grab both my digital camera and cell phone. I'd want a glimpse of what set dog off before going out, after all the 'intruder' might be human in which case i'd call police.

Would decide about going out depending on how they moved, if seemed to have a weapon. If at night, when most sightings take place, might be surprised when going out to pick DD up from work or when we got home. Cell phone would be on me.

How can i be confident i'd react calmly, assessing situation? Because i tend to stay calm in bad situations. I've gotten myself out of threatening situations with humans, including being in an apt when someone was trying to break in. On top of that i've lived in houses with paranormal activity and currently live with at least 3 harmless spirits.

I've seen things many people freak out about, and stayed calm. So, unless it looked like the Predator, or the Alien fom the Aliens franchise (and then behavior would matter too--because just being big and ugly might not indicate character or intent) my curiosity would likely override any concerns for safety.

Considering state of world if they 'took' me it might be as much a rescue as an abduction.

How would you know it is an alien?

If it looked like some from our SIFI movies, one might know it is an alien. But it may look like us, or like many of the 'crazies' we all see walking around in our cities now days. I think it is more likely that I would think it was someone from 'downtown' who got high on drugs and found his/ her way to my back yard. So most likely I will call the police telling them someone is trespassing on my house, and they look like trouble.

This rendition is more like a 'Twilight Zone' show than a monster show.... right?

You did mean an alien from space right!

I'd probably try to communicate since whatever it looked like chose my backyard to meet & greet. Have to suspect an alien that was capable of space travel & didn't display aggression would be safe to try to communicate with.
