Manhunt for child molesters in Kentucky

In so many of the countries W/out, there is a basic lack of education, opportunity . As such, if the crime rate is high ? it is out of desperation . They may have little choice , but to take the chance.

There is no excuse for crime here, there are all sorts of education / training opportunities . Take advantage of one, get a job.

I have to agree. There are so many more opportunities here to help an honest person lead a decent life.

In many cases, hardworking people are only one or two paychecks from the street. This happens in both our countries. Recently happened to someone I know, through no fault of their own.

Very true but, is your friend going to enter into a life of crime?....or attempt to regroup & go on with their life?

If they are going to do the later , I wish them well. If they are going to do the former?....I hope they get caught & prosecuted to the fullest extent the law allows..

Actually, according to extensive studies, harsh treatment/capital punishment have little deterrent effect on lowering crime rates.

In any event, if guilty, they have their own torment
But
That's nothing, compared to what awaits them in prison

Child molesters are sport, in the joint

.

If I were queen, child rapists would be executed.

Many years ago there was a horrific case in Texas where a boy was kidnapped and held as a sex slave for many years.

When the kidnapper/rapist was caught and convicted, he served less time in prison than the boy suffered as a sex slave.

The first list shows the countries that still have the death penalty. The US sits right there, among that "enlightened" bunch.

Yes, Federally the U.S. has the death penalty. However the following U.S. states have done away with the death penalty.

That's a good point, Olivia. The death penalty really does depend on each individual state, doesn't it? So, if 49 of our states abolished the death penalty, and only one held on to it, would the U.S. still be listed as a
"death penalty" state?

Is the death penalty ever imposed by a federal court? All I can think of in this regard is the Nuremberg Trials, in which the Nazi war criminals were convicted and executed by the Army. So maybe military executions are the
only examples of a federal death penalty being carried out by the U.S.?

To that same point, having the death penalty and enforcing can be two different matters. CA still has the death penalty but hasn't implemented it since 2006. Many here are clamoring to start executing people though, so future events remain to be seen.

The staggering costs involved with maintaining death row prison units, plus funding the court costs and lawyers on both sides for appeals, make the death penalty an extraordinarily expensive alternative to life imprisonment without parole. That doesn't speak to the emotional toll placed on the (for want of a better description) "execution crew."

Yes, because Federally the death penalty is still an option.

Yes, the most recent I can think of is Timothy McVeigh who died from lethal injection on June 11, 2001, at the Federal Correction Complex, Terre Haute.

.

God's Biblical justice mandates a swift death penalty for certain crimes [minus plea bargains and decades of appeals given by human injustice.]

Ironically, there are no prison punishments under God's law. Either the criminal was returned to society or he was not. Either the criminal was swiftly executed or he was swiftly punished or required to make restitution to the victim and returned to society.

The further Christian nations strayed from administering Biblical law, the more lawless and violent their societies became. Puts a divine spin on the meme, "no justice, no peace."

Given all the transgressions that the Bible lists as being punishable by death, there would likely be very few adults spared that fate.

Dictatorships ruled by religions always have the least violent populace. Gee, I wonder why?

Interesting you would say that. In Luke 17:26-30, Jesus says when He returns human society will be like the "days of Noah" and "days of Lot." In both of those Old Testament examples, human society had passed the point of no return and all were destroyed except a chosen few.

I don't expect nations today will change their course 180 degrees and embrace Biblical laws, which is why Luke 17:26-30 is such a telling prophecy.

I'm sure you're happy about that. Says a lot about you.

Oh gee, nothing like going biblical. I’m particularly fond of Leviticus where it says we can stone to death the gay men. (Apparently gay women were okay). That probably explains why there are no gay men today. Being stoned to death would be such a powerful deterrent....

Unless it was meant in the marijuana or opioid context. In that case there might be a long line for "punishment."

You should be wary of making so many personal attacks.

.

And you don't? To you most of us will be turned to salt and going to hell, except for you, of course. You do that ALL THE TIME! So quit it! You think you're the personal messenger from God to condemn the rest of us? Jesus would tell you, think again!!!
