I couldn't agree with this more. Those freaky neighbors I had gas lit me to the max and literally said "we're afraid of you." Also denied pointing at me etc. No these people can go full on nut case.

Just like confronting a bully. It can often result in escalated abuse.
 

Lee, since you said you generally close the windows when they are outside, could this have been a one-time thing? Or do you have reason to believe they have information about other private conversations you have had?

It seems to me that in order to hear your conversations that well, especially with the windows closed, they'd have to be sitting right smack against your house. Either that, or you are shouting your conversations through a bullhorn! 😆

I agree. People who eavesdrop on neighbors and spread information based on those private conversations, aren't likely to respond to even a gentle discussion with, "Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry. I didn't realize our behavior might have been over the line. Our apologies if our actions were inappropriate or an invasion of your personal space."
 
I guess I am lucky, my neighbors are great, they are not intrusive but do keep an eye out for each other.

Cut my grass after my husband died, called 911 when I was out with my walker, crying having trouble getting back to the house. I was scheduled for a hip replacement the next week but the pain had become undearable. Called when I have left the garage door open and the car lights on. Called the police for a well check when I left my purse sitting out on the trunk of the car. Forgot I had put it there, I was having car trouble, checking the battery, came back in the house with out the purse.

Erecting a fence is a very expensive proposition. You can call the police and tell them what you told us. But first you need to record them or get a picture of them sitting under your window so you have proof. They can't do anything about it without proof.
 
ok, some explanations to the questions.....Cannot switch around rooms, it is a mobile home, and now most private conversations take place on the other side where the addition sunroom is. I only had that conversation as hubby was watching tv so I went into the computer room.

I have tried to talk to them about another matter explaining that the gas company had not been able to get a meter reading for 5 months as their truck is sitting right where it is difficult for the man to get through. That went over big. He insisted the space was more than adequate. The reason the truck is there is because he snuck in a big long driveway when the manager was away on the weekend. He wanted to buy a camping trailer and park it there but the park said no to that. He has lots of space at the end to park but I think this is just spite.

And a fence would not be allowed by park management on that side of the home. I have asked already.

I have tried to be nice to them. Lent the wife some books, maybe some of you remember the post where she returned them by putting them on the porch in the rain.

I think I will just learn to live with it, not much else can be done.

But I do love some of the suggestions.....and who knows, maybe one night after a few glasses of vino hehehe.
 
I would pee out the window on them, I'm not kidding one bit. Or a bucket of poo, that would be even better. How about becoming a bee keeper and placing some hives out there? Or put a big stereo speaker in the window and blast it!

Seriously I would be very irritated, I would react with open hostility.

lol..trouble is Lee has to live right next to them... but I'm with you, I'm afraid there would be a war if this was happening to me.. and I'm not kidding either . I just wouldn't stand for it.. I think the stereo is a great idea.. have it right next to the window, and as soon as they appear to sit down..turn that beggar up full blast..

Have you ever googled them? Sometimes you can find out a lot about people that way. Like whether your vibes are correct. (I think they've already proven your vibes are correct. I'm just nosy.)

If anyone said they were afraid of me, I'd nod solemnly, and say, "That is wise".

Also, the music should be classical. They'd hate that, I bet. Or rap. Or from the 40s. Or Christmas in July.
 
I could loan you my 90# black chow, let him out the door, scream run, run, Off they will go. Just hold out your hand with a piece of cheese and he will come right back to you, eat the cheese and give you a big kiss. They won't be any the wiser, and will live in fear that he might come out the door again. He is very useful getting door to door sales people to move along. He just stands there with me holding his collar. No bark is even needed.
