A little ahead of my time, but Janis Joplin. I have loved the blues ever since.

His voice is integral to their awesomeness. It's a perfect fit. Bob Dylan's voice is 'weird and nasal' too, but it's part and parcel of his greatness.I love Steely Dan, but I would argue that they are great in spite of, rather than because of Donald Fagen's voice. It's perfect for them and their songs, but it's weird and nasal.

Always a contrarian in this forum. Well, "screech queen" Lisa Fischer won a Grammy for that song and I don't even need to defend Anne Wilson. She is globally known as one of the greatest voices in Rock. To each his own.Another pair of screech queens........
I put my vote in for Ann Wilson.Always a contrarian in this forum. Well, "screech queen" Lisa Fischer won a Grammy for that song and I don't even need to defend Anne Wilson. She is globally known as one of the greatest voices in Rock. To each his own.
Absolutely. We saw Stevie Nicks in concert in 2019 and she was fantastic!I am going to add Stevie Nicks to this list.

Here you go. Mick Jagger thinks Lisa Fischer is great. Maybe you have Tinnitus. That makes the "screech" worse.
Another vocalists that some may not of heard of from the late 60's and 70's is Sandy Denny. Her voice was amazing. She was involved with the Celtic/Folk Rock band Fairport Convention for a short time as well as the Strawbs and Fotheringay.
She did die way too young. Maddy Prior is also very talented. She was great. She died too young. Another, similar vocalist is Maddy Prior of Steeleye Span, very gifted.
Fairport are my favourite folk band of all time... for years we've gone to see them live for their 3 days concert at Cropredy Oxford using our Camper van,.. and Sandy Denny had the most unusual voice , we even named our boat the Matty Groves after that beautiful song..Another vocalists that some may not of heard of from the late 60's and 70's is Sandy Denny. Fairport is an amazing band and it was too that Sandy was not with them that long. Another member of the band who I thought had an amazing but unique voice was Dave Swarbrick. He of course was also probably the best fiddle player I have ever heard.Fairport are my favourite folk band of all time... for years we've gone to see them live for their 3 days concert at Cropredy Oxford using our Camper van,.. and Sandy Denny had the most unusual voice , we even named our boat the Matty Groves after that beautiful song..
