been working in the conservatory,,i know silly me lol,,put some shelves up,had a beer,cut back the rosemarys,had a beer,,its been so bloody hot and humid,so had another beer lol,,rain and storms never happened,so i just watered garden,phew

Just back from grocery shopping. Skipped Costco but went to my produce store plus Aldi.
It's pleasantly cool here today with a high of 71°. Lovely weather ahead - not too hot yet.

Some household chores on my agenda now that I've just enjoyed a few slices of pizza that we stashed in the fridge last night. Reheated them in a frying pan. Much faster than the oven.

And I loved the one of an earlier group of yours here, with the poppies and the other wildflowers.

Very nice close-up of the poppy, as well!

I can see some of the same, coming up in our flower bed, from my window viewpoint. I was afraid they wouldn't come back, this year, but some did self-seed, and are wonderful to watch, as the plants are growing, presently. Not near budding yet.

It's nice to have taken a bit of time, today, to come by SF, and to glance through some of everyone's posts.

Did you go out early before dawn and in the morning. It is so hot here in Texas I know I could not go during the day. It is relaxing when it is cool, so enjoyable. I don't like to bait the hook or take the fish off the hook but just sit and hold the pole. I am fine if I don't get a bite. Of course, have not been for years now since I am on my own.
 
@hollydolly, I am afraid for you, seems like you will have another boiling summer. I wish you could find some kind of small air conditioner for at least the bedroom. It is hot here but I do have AC, I can chose not to leave the house. Some people thing global warming is not true but I believe it is, even our fall and winter seasons are not as cool or cold as when I was young. Do try to find something that can give you some relief at least when you are sleeping.
 
We were on the water at daylight till late lunch time about 1:00pm. I only fish lures no bait...


holly D--- I have AC in my home also ceiling fans there also plus I am very used to Texas heat here we have not hit 100 yet. It will happen soon though hitting 100 or more. My home stays about 74 all the time. Maybe being cold nature after had frost bite is a good thing.

Sorry it's hitting you like that Hawkdon! I haven't gone outside since the "Unhealthy" air quality alert. My son is a trucker and he was out there. A couple of days ago he wrote on his Facebook page that his eyes were bothering him, but he was not affected as badly as you. He did wear a mask so hopefully no particles got into his lungs. I hope it gets better quickly for you as well.

It's not that I couldn't afford to install AC... and I do have fans all over the house, Blessed... but our electricity prices have risen so high since Covid, that I can't afford to run it... Last year Running just one fan through the night every night for about 2 months added £500 to my already very expensive bill :( last night I slept with no covers on the bed ..only 78 in the house..hot, but not as hot yet as it could be.. and I woke up drowning in a swimming pool of a bed..dreadful nights' sleep..just can't afford to run the fans
