About putting on duvet covers. Get four clothes pegs. With the duvet cover open and pushed up so you can easily access the two top inner corners of the cover, take one corner of the duvet, place it inside the inner corner of the top right hand side and, on the outside, peg it in place, then do the same on the left hand side. Shake down the duvet cover. Peg both bottom corners of the duvet to the inner corners of the bottom of the duvet. So, now all corners of the duvet are pegged. Shake the covered duvet and remove the pegs. :) I know it sounds like a flaff but, actually, it's easy and works well (y)

Now that is exactly how I do it but without the pegs!
Brilliant . Thank you.
I don't have clothes pegs so will have to take a trip to dollar store to see what I can find.

you are a Genius... so simple, I'll try that this week...(y)

Actually today I am crying like a baby. My Best friend just called me to tell me she is getting a divorce. At first, I thought she was joking but she wasn't. She said her husband told her he was in love with someone else. They were married 50yrs and I went to their anniversary party a few weeks ago. I don't understand why!

You're welcome. It was actually mum's method and she said she used the pegs as otherwise the corners didn't stay together. I guess you could use any type of clips although, pegs are perfect. (y)

It is sad @Sassycakes but, I don't think it is unusual. I know quite a few couples who split up after very long relationships; usually one partner meets someone else and, I guess, a new relationship seems much more exciting than the one they have shared for many years. 🤷‍♀️

Your friend must be very hurt.

Fifty years, and now he wants out, more like a bereavement than a divorce. I have been married for fifty-five years, I just couldn't do that to her, no matter what. We have our ups and downs, friend's wives I find attractive, but all I do is, enjoy the view. My lady has stood beside me through thick and thin, I just couldn't cause her the pain and anguish, there again, I certainly know which side my bread is buttered.

Yes, and your wardrobe would certainly suffer ;) :)

I was given one of those foot-files, and feeling a bit adventurous, I decided to attack all the dead, hard skin on both feet, and there was a lot.

I merrily filed away, creating a hill of powdered skin on a sheet of paper, and do you know what, my feet feel superb now, in fact, my feet now rattle in my shoes. 😊

I know what you mean. My husband and I have been married for over 50 yrs and I would be devastated if he left me and so would our children and grandkids.

Still No rain here.. very hot, & sunny.. and everything has dried up..even my roses around the door are wilting.!! I've just been and mowed the lawns on a high height setting .. simply to mow up all the dried leaves.. much quicker than raking... and then watered the roses... the Autumn Joy... the ferns... and all the pots... . Tonight if there's still no sign of rain.. I'll get the hosepipe out and sprinklers

I'm sitting here at my desk now with a Battery controlled desk fan on full blast... and a cup of iced coke. ☀️🥤

Hi there, today, all of you.

Holly, you mentioned Autumn Joy. Are your roses called that?
I have "Autumn Joy" sedums, which is not a rose, and flowers beautifully in the season of........🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁....... If you guessed "autumn" ....then, you're right!

Oh gosh, that's a refreshing laugh, for me.

yes and that's in Scotland where the temps rarely ever get above 65 lol... so you can imagine how hot it is here down South.... right now it's 82 deg ( 28 deg c)

I'm sorry you've got black mould in your home.. what's causing it ?
Hi @hollydolly , currently it's apparently dry black mould caused by the fact that the steam and humidity from the shower has nowhere to go, even with the trap and window opened.

The electrician came today but only to find out where he could install it. He said that he was too busy to install it today. Bummer!

As it's dried mould, daughter and I were able to use a scrub sponge with antibacterial dish liquid and it came right off. Unfortunately, it will return with our next shower lol. Hence the urgent requirement of the installation of an extractor fan. SMILE!

Finally got my heat pump (cooling in summer, heat in winter) sorted today.
Didn't take much, only took one pound of Freon but made all the difference in the world to my tiny 1945 cottage with only a 2.5 ton heat pump.
Lose of Freon means a leak somewhere but none were found. Means it's losing Freon v.e.r.y. slowly. Last recharge was 6yrs ago.

Other than that, spent too much time on SF again today when I should have been cutting grass or watching paint dry or something. Oh well :ROFLMAO:

~Took a couple of naps today.
~Cleaned Deja's litter box twice today.
~Refilled containers of laundry supplies.
~Finished sorting laundry tonight..getting ready for a midnight run to the laundry room, which is a little earlier than I usually go down. But I know if I eat a snack first then sit a while, I'll get lazy and won't go.

Always do my laundry at night it seems. Often late night too. My electric company said it's cheaper after 7P.M. ... I think they're just trying to trick me when I see the bill though ;)

And SNACKS !!! ... I KNEW I was forgetting something :ROFLMAO: ~~~

Spent ages with the alarm company trying to straighten out our account. Last week we wasted ages dealing with someone in India. The only consolation was that we refused to buy the plan he was selling so his time was wasted too. Only wasted 10 minutes in India today and 15 minutes getting the run around with computers. Finally got someone nearby and she was very honest about the situation. Things are sorted for now.

Daily walk. Watched the baby quails. Seemed like 3 different troops. They’re so darn cute.

Woke up way too early--330! Dragged self from bed 430. Will leave to visit grandson 1030. Should give me enough time to shower & dress I think. Will be having dinner over there, too, won't get home till past my usual bedtime. Usually go to bed 930 out of sheer boredom; run out of ways to amuse myself and can't take it anymore.

Yesterday, I was an airhead and forgot to run to the store to get more berries and bananas for my bunny. Last night he had no berries and nothing to replace them with. He was not happy with me! So I gave him a piece of the banana that was already the end part and small. Now this morning he is used to a bigger piece and all I had was a tiny piece (tiny by his standards!). He keeps looking at me expecting more. So I placed an early order with Instacart because I could use a few things and he can't wait till tomorrow when Sonny is coming to take me to my dental appointment. It is scheduled for 10:45 so he will just have to wait.

No Kaila... the Autumn Joy is a perennial...

sounds like you have the same or similar.. Sedum Herbstfreude. . I've been growing them for about 20 years now... they need so little tending, and are really tolerant of drought, but mine grow under my shrubs in an arch I made ..so they don't get as much sun as they really should get , so I make sure they don't get thirsty...
