Will soon be in the pool for an early morning swim. Will take care of some household chores after that -no biggies though. In a couple of hours I'll see what our kids are up to. Might get together, might not. Our dog is completely chill about fireworks noise, theirs aren't, so they may need to stay home to keep an eye on the pooches.

Will probably wander around the neighborhood after dark to watch the fireworks people are setting off. All FW are illegal in the city of Los Angeles, but you'd never know it...

It's supposed to be 99F today. So first a bit of garage work (while garage is coolest) on my current Jeep project, then mow my little back lawn (10 min job). When it's hotter later, my son and I are going to see the new Indiana Jones movie.
You speaking about garage works is a good laugh. Daughter and I just watched Season 3 of Home Improvements with Tim Allen lol!

The bakery wasn't busy, but the rest of the store was. I actually finished all my work today. Customers passed through the bakery and just picked up whatever looked like the 4th of July and went on their way. We had lots of individual servings of strawberry shortcake, along with cookies/cakes/cupcakes decorated in red/white/blue.

Now I'm sitting around on my dead center and doing nothing. It's only 87 but feels like 96 so I'm inside with the a/c and Maggiecat. Too humid to be outside. A short rain last night and another this morning took care of watering the flowers.

well it's been a great day for me weather wise .. cool..and pouring of rain almost all day... Still raining heavily now at racing towards 7pm. I love it when it rains because everything goes quiet outside.... and obviously it clear the air of humidity too. My daughter is suffering badly with her hayfever this year more than most years, so the pollen count is very high

Just been to take out the wheelie bins to the edge of the kerb to be emptied early morning..

Had to have a coat and hood on it's raining so hard.. but when I went to the back garden to get the bins ..I noticed some weeds I'd not seen before and pulled them up..wow.. these things had got a firm grip.. and I pulled up a huge chunk of turf with them.....given that I'm out in the garden every other day if not more.. those things got a grip really fast...

Hello! Happy Independence Day
......and Coosday!

I've been moody lately, not feeling very social. I've hardly gone online at all, other than popping in for a few quick posts. Other than that, I'm sorry to say that I've not been keeping up with everyone's activities.

✂The only news that I have is that I got my hair cut. Dio sheared me like a sheep. I feel so much cooler in all the the heat and humidity that we're getting.

🎆 That's it for me. If you get to see fireworks tonight, enjoy.....stay safe!

We've had terrible end of June weather for the past two weeks. Unrelieved (except for one day) overcast, rainy, drizzly, humid weather! I feel so sorry for the tourists who come to enjoy our beaches! It's been really depressing. Today is the first day in quite some time that the sun is breaking through now and then. Humidity is down as well from 98 to 86 percent! That may still seem like a lot, but at least I don't feel like drowning today! :)

Staying in the house and watching reruns of Yellowstone. We're still locked into hot weather with little chance of rain....this area has been in "extreme drought" for the past month. That, plus I'm nursing swollen/tender gums after getting my teeth pulled a few days ago, and temporary dentures. Between gargling with warm salt water every couple of hours, and eating little other than Cream of Wheat, soup and pudding, etc., my urge to do much is on hold.

A friend is one of those tourists getting soaked. After 8 days, they packed up and are heading toward Quebec City.

 Sorry to hear that.

Some of those species seem to grow faster and stronger that Jack's Beanstalk! Don't they?:rolleyes::cool:

Overnight, they outgrow our wonderful loved plants of any variety!:sneaky:

Glad it was cool though, and not dreadful hot!

@Trila Regarding your longer post, ....💞💗💕

~Finished cleaning my NuWave oven. I started late last night but technically didn’t finish until after midnight.

~Organized some of my files in Google Drive and the emails I want to save into folders. I also downloaded special videos from those two places and saved them on my external drives.

~Wrote out the one check a month I have to write for our carrying charge (HOA fee). We have until the 10th of the month. I’ll put it in our community drop box tomorrow and management will pick it up on Thursday, the 6th.

Everyone have a good night and better tomorrow. :D

Booked Mrs. L's car in for its first service. It's got a pre-paid service plan which seemed good value. I called dealer where we bought the car, but found that it now has a central booking service. I also found that the service plan was with the dealership, rather than the brand of the car.
This is handy because it's a national company so I can go to a more convenient branch to have the service done.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, I'm trying to bury a water pipe to connect to an outside tap in the garden. I've dug up all sorts of rubbish - bits of pipe, bits of a cast iron stove etc.. It's proving harder than I'd hoped.
