Booked Mrs. L's car in for its first service. It's got a pre-paid service plan which seemed good value. I called dealer where we bought the car, but found that it now has a central booking service. I also found that the service plan was with the dealership, rather than the brand of the car.
This is handy because it's a national company so I can go to a more convenient branch to have the service done.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, I'm trying to bury a water pipe to connect to an outside tap in the garden. I've dug up all sorts of rubbish - bits of pipe, bits of a cast iron stove etc.. It's proving harder than I'd hoped.

On my early walk at 6:15 temp was 70 with a slight breeze didn't go far just 1 time around the apt complex,then watered the plants/ flowers in community garden
This morning I have dr's appt at 9:30 for annual visit.This afternoon around 12:15 I'll stroll over to Marcia&Dave's because I'll be dog sitting my 'buddy boy' Tage. I haven't seen him in a week,he'll get so excited as he usually does, tail wagging This will be the highlight of my day

Picked some sugar snap peas early this morning, first of the season, when they are done I will replant for a September feast.

A bit of weeding, and then back to the sewing machine this afternoon.

Don’t people in Scotland find ancient treasures sometimes when they dig up their yards? Keep digging!

Not exactly treasure, but when we first started to prepare vegetable beds (the garden had been in grass and weeds), we dug up a large collection of empty bottles - drinks,medicines etc.. Nothing of any real value. We also dug up animal bones, teeth, harness and cart fittings and a large key. Unfortunately, it was so rusted that it broke up.

I can hardly believe it’s been just over 2 weeks since my landing here…..time is going so quickly.

I’m getting my routine and schedule into place…..bit on the slow side…..but…..it’s appearing.

Everything is unpacked and in place, just a little pantry to reorganize, and the laundry room to reorganize as well…..still have things to hang up on walls.

Micki and I go out for walks and her jobs 4 times a day, sometimes 5.
As no surprise…..Micki steals the show…..she’s such a ham. .
She’s picked up on everything super fast.
Our outings can most often take extra time, very friendly community, always someone to talk to.
Did I mention, Micki steals the show ……she loves sitting on the balcony and watching everything and everyone.

Sorry to all with what I have missed with everyone…..will get back into the swing of things on here soon.

Happy Morning after the Fourth folks!!! Wow the artillery
was wild last nite, mortar shells as big as a VW i think....
I can honestly say I got a little scared as they were going off
over my head!!!! City park just 300 feet away from me, and the locals go there and set off their own fireworks....what a mess it
must be there....luckily the storms came about midnit and shut it all down...I see no reason for the general public to have those
size of shells, a bit overdoing it to my way of thinking....just finished my Sausage Gravy on toast (forgot to buy biscuits)...Not sure what else I'll get up to today....take care all....

Well, we learned last night that fireworks make our dog fearful and anxious. We got Ozzy 11 months ago so this is his first 4th of July with us. Some may remember that he's fairly skittish to begin with, so the war zone noises of our neighborhood last night were no picnic for him.

Fortunately we have prescription meds that calm him down. It took a while for them to catch up with his adrenaline last night though. He'll get half a pill late this afternoon because as sure as God made little green apples, people will be shooting off some of the remainders of their fireworks stash this evening.

I am having a great day! I had a nostalgic moment yesterday and googled some of my old Navy friends! Most had passed away in the meantime, but to my delight I found that my best friend, ever, was still alive! So, after sixty years, he replied to a message I left on WikiTree! You have no idea how good that makes me feel. The ministry made it impossible to make true friends, so I have been "friendless" for years! Thank God I have my daughters!

Staying in because the heat index is 109 here today. Actual temp is 94 degrees. The state of Florida is beating all time records of heat so far this year. This creates bad storms which are in the area.

Been a bit 'off' lately with all bits and pieces of bothersome body stuff so not doing much of anything as they say.
Trying to keep up with the SF fun and light stuff
Tomorrow is another day.......maybe give the vacuum cleaner a treat and take it out for a walk.
Dusters need a bit of exercise too so a few flicks here and there might be in order
