When its 100F here we think of cool 70 temps!
Then when its 25F we think on June, July Hulk makers.

Son & grandson coming today. Yesterday was horrible, so awful but it's gone. Yesterday's gone......grateful it's gone. I managed to save it by dramatic phone calls and hard work so I won the day but at a big cost to my stress levels. If I didn't make the effort today would be lost too, as well as tomorrow. So glad I made an effort to save myself.

Force of Circumstance can make or break a day or a life. Sometimes one can seize it; sometimes not.

Looks like everyone has been very busy…..I think that’s what I’ve been…..I’ve yet to get back to my regular schedule on here.
When I think of something to do here related to settling in, I do it right away.
Have a few more things hung…..I pick a spot, then think a bit, to make sure it’s the right spot…..don’t want to make any unnecessary holes in the walls.
Have been doing a lot of walking……always talking to someone when out…..which Micki loves…..of course she’s always ready to do the adorable thing to get attention.
Have been out for several meals.
Still trying to figure out where the time has gone…..I’ve been here now just over a month.
Time to go do some Saturday things.

I just read something that made me angry. The article was published in Florida and said that Black people benefited from slavery and that it taught them skills. I can't figure out a way to put the article in here.
I also saw that and found it infuriating. It's all over the news. This was part of The Guardian's coverage:

"On Wednesday, the Florida board of education approved new standards for how public schools should teach Black history.

According to a 216-page document, public school students will now be taught that some Black people received “personal benefit” from slavery – because it taught them useful skills.

“Instruction includes how slaves developed skills which, in some instances, could be applied for their personal benefit,” one curriculum benchmark said."

p.s. To me, this smacks of: "Other than that unfortunate incident, how did you like the play, Mrs. Lincoln?"

It's been a busy couple of weeks with lots of time with our kids and grands plus out of town company for nearly a week.

Baby grandson was here yesterday and he'll be back late this afternoon to spend the night (give his parents a chance to catch up on bigger household projects that have been on the back burner). He'll be here through late tomorrow morning. We try to arrange an overnight with him at least once a fortnight so he'll remain comfortable sleeping here now and then.

Our kids often spent the night at my Mom's - those times are among their most treasured childhood memories. We want that our grandchildren to have that same experience.

I am worn out today, but this time,
it is from doing something great, this very morning.🤩

It's my body's aftermath from the 2 of us having finally managed to go on a taxing but Fun outing, this morning,🥳

to the nearby garden center, to select a few plants, to put into pots outside my window, sometime in next few days!

These are the first plants that I have managed to get, this entire garden season, and my first time to the garden center, all this year!!!
I am very thankful for having been able to do this.

'Better late than never!!!'
definitely applies.
:D😎🌺🌼🌸🌞

yeaaaaah... fabulous news. I'm delighted to hear it.. may it go on being so.....

What I am doing today? Using a machete to cut a path through the jungle in our garden. Pomegranates and figs keep growing,
while a Monarch beautifies our garden. I heard in Phoenix AZ it's even warmer, but last year we also had it up to 119 degrees Fahrenheit.
OK StarSong, Los Angeles is always quite a bit cooler than the so-called Inland Empire, especially where we are located.

Lots of laundry and organizing things. A burial for one of my two plants. There’s obviously a reason I shouldn’t be allowed to own these things. This one was basil. Sigh.

Really hot today. I didn’t have the energy to walk. That’s not me. Had a really poor sleep last night. Hope it’s better tonight.

Yesterday the weather forecast was inaccurate as usual which for once, was good. The day was better than forecast so I mowed the grass and managed to get three loads of washing done and dried on the washing line.
Today's forecast is for being cold, windy and with random showers.

I've got plenty to do inside and out - all I need is some enthusiasm. I'm going to cook beef bourguignon for dinner this evening.
