Okay, you just did, HD! Today looks crazy so far. I was up until 3:30 am with my visiting younger daughter. We always have a great time listening to my YouTube playlist! Had a 10:00 a.m. appointment with a blood clinic and was so uptight about losing even more sleep that the expected happened. I couldn't get to sleep until 7:30! So, on two hours of sleep, I will be going to a family reunion dinner (supper!!!) this evening.

We have two visitors, two of my nieces from Germany, whom I haven't seen since they were children and who would fit nicely into this forum now, plus my regular crew from N.S.

Personally, I think my older daughter is crazy because she actually enjoys having a packed house and cooking for ten people. She definitely doesn't have my genes! My grandson will come back to my place after supper, and we'll watch some movies. after that he'll stay overnight! We haven't seen each other since before Covid! And I'm afraid that I'll fall asleep on him. And, no, I've never been able to nap so I'll have to tough it out! I need your long distance support! :)

My usual cleaning chores……then did all the floors……unpacked my 8ft round area rug, that came yesterday, and got into place.
I actually bought a 6ft round rug for the living room, and a 6ft round rug for my bedroom.
To make this storey even longer……decided the 6ft for the living room was too small…..replaced it with the 8ft one……much better.
So……
Living room and both bed rooms have area rugs……I am done with rugs……helps make the rooms cozier.
And…….
To add to the boringness…..they’re all the same pattern……matches the floors and furniture nicely.

Will post some pics in what I bought recently……have really sunk in to shopping for my place…..almost done. 💸💰💵💰💰💰💰💰💰.
 

I must have a mental block to vacuuming. Two days ago I dusted the two bedrooms with carpeting. Took the laundry downstairs with the plan of bringing up the big vacuum. Forgot it. I’ve been to the basement several times to do something and again forgot the vacuum. The question is will I remember to do it when I get out of this chair. I’m easily distracted. I need to make icing for my cake. Maybe that’s my priority.

Vacuumed? I did that a couple few times.
When my Golden Retrievers fur balls ran across the floor, I mistook them for a new pet and put out another bowel of food. Ya, I need to vacuum more often. But hey! Got to have at least some bachelor traits!
 
I went to a funeral for a neighbor who owned a printing company that was known for printing beautiful programs. Although we were neighbors for decades, until today I didn’t know much about his personal life. As with any well done funeral, there were funny stories about his adventures that made us laugh. He and his wife were always so patient and courteous when my husband dropped off jobs, often pushing the deadlines, and it was very appreciated. I attended so I could pay my respects and give condolences to his wife and his mother (who is on our co-op board).

If it was cooler, I would have taken my time and walked, but it was hot and humid today. I took Lyfts there and back. I’m glad I did because when I left the funeral (early to avoid the crunch), it was drizzling and I had no umbrella. I did some accounting after reviewing my new credit card and utility bills, watched TV, napped and cleaned up the kitchen.

@OneEyedDiva Thanks for the reminder. I need to refill the pill box. It's one of those little things that annoys me. Huh? Five minutes of my time. What's that all about!

Since it's gonna rain probably until noon, I don't have any excuse for ignoring the laundry or the housekeeping. Heck. I might even get so ambitious that I'll move the sofa and clean underneath. Key word there is "might."

Oh, dear. The storm's about to hit. Thunder! Lightning! Eeek.

You're welcome GG. Consider yourself lucky if all it takes is 5 minutes for you to fill your pill box! It takes me 20 minutes at least. I've got so many prescriptions, I'm starting to feel like a pharmacist. :rolleyes: I don't like being alone when I do it, but sometimes I have no choice if my son has a very busy schedule.

I've been up since 1am feeling lousy. Took my glucose--500! I have never, ever, ever in my life had a level like this, never. Took insulin and now I am jumping & walking around to lower it. May dance. Never have I seen a number anywhere near that. Seeing doc Tuesday, will discuss. Wow. Color me warned.

A year or two ago saw 300, but only one time. I'm seriously freaked out and got the scare I needed.
 
Been awake since 5:00 a.m. because I went to bed early last night. The o/h and I had back-to-back appts.
with the eye doctor yesterday. Would you believe, we were there from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Never before
have I been to an optometrist who is so thorough with their patient's health conditions, and testing.

I was overdue for new glasses (distance, computer, sunglasses) .. so, I splashed out on 3 new frames. Cost
a fortune, but I was unsatisfied with the quality of my previous glasses, and especially the sunglasses.

Staying in today .. laundry, cleaning, dusting, etc.

5 and a half hours to test your eyes, Pinky ?..😲. what was he doing.. was he copying your Brain pattern ?
 
Git my new toaster and kettle... unboxed and put in situ... I haven't taken the kettle out of it's box yet, because the other one is still working ok.. but the toaster is now out.. i have taken the label off since I took the photo....I've put the kettle away for now.. and kept the box for the toaster in case anything goes wrong with it. Usually I keep empty boxes for a few weeks

I've also vacc'd all downstairs.... and I've also attached new radiator pipe covers to my bathroom and toilet radiators, and to the top and bottom hallways...
 
In the Uk the majority of people have Gas central heating which uses Radiators to heat each room. For the most part they're ugly.. but the ugliest part is where the pipes rise from under the floor to connect to the radiator, so altho' many people paint them the heat causes them to blister.. we can buy radiator pipe covers to make them look nicer than when they are painted...
