It's after midnight and I've been out in the yard watching a launch, a particularly bright one tonight. It was supposed to go off at 11:01 p.m. but was put off for an hour. Man, this never gets old!
How fabulous...I'd love to watch that....

The advice I was once given by someone who knew from experience was, don't be fobbed off. My only suggestion is that, if your GP doesn't volunteer it, then ask for him/her to print you off an x-ray form so you can go straight to a local hospital and have an x-ray done. I did this and was able to go directly to my local hospital and, they did the x-ray within half an hour of me arriving at the department.

Hope all goes well tomorrow and it proves to be something minor which, these things often are x
Bless you Trish... I'll ask..never knew I could do that ..but I'll certainly ask...

Well morning gang....not happy one with me, in mucho pain
left shoulder, arthur i guess has come to visit for the winter....
got a heat pad on it now...will use a pain patch later...hope u
all have a good day.....
I'm so sorry to read that you are going through this. I don't know if you believe in prayer Hawkdon. I do. And I pray daily that those I know who have chronic pain will be relieved of it. I pray this, not only for my two grandsons who suffer with fibromyalgia, but for my online friends, of which you are one, too.

Errands. Lots of errands.
DHs back has been out since early Oct. We went on two trips, one with a long car ride so he hasn't had a chance to give it good rest. So, I'm helping get him caught up along with my own holiday prep.

Any magic remedies for a degenerative disc that won't get better?

The plan was a gander trip around Ikea. Mother Nature had different expectations. So, watching an Australian Mermaid series called "H2O" with Claire Holt and Phoebe Tonkin from Vampire Diaries.

Discovered there's a second season called "Mako Island" sounds good. Also found all three films about "Blue Lagoon". All added to viewing lists.

Leftovers of Steak and Kidney Pie for dinner. Easy Rainy Wednesday. Turn frown upside down 😔🙃

Sick wise, I was feeling better, until I got my flu shot....which is normal for me. Today, besides my arm hurting from the actual shot, I'm a bit achey (sp?). Nothing serious, but enough to keep me from over doing things today. Dio seems to feel about the same, so it'll be an easy day for both.

I did finally pull out my Christmas cards, going to start doing a few of those. I still need to sew my Mom's magnet....but the lighting needs to be just right for me to be able to see.

Other than that, I'm not sure what mischief I'll get into! 🙃

Wednesday is Likkle Grandson Day - but I'll be going to see my Mum in hospital. She had a stroke yesterday which has screwed up her speech, but they say they are hopefull they can sort or at least improve it. She'll be in there about a week.
Prayers for your dear Mum, @-Oy- for a speedy recovery to full function! Look forward to seeing her gracious smile again soon 😊

Back from doctor's office with hubby.
He will be having an EGD done,, waiting for time & date.

I'm thinking of tackling the shelves about cupboards & cleaning the stuff up there.
Would like to change what is up there.
Presently a lot of glass, pottery stuff.

Hubby has lots of model cars, tractors in this room,,,, don't think I want that in the kitchen!

Sunny out,,off to walk Mac.

Hope everyone has a great day!:):giggle:

Well..I'm back from the torrential rain, and the almost aquaplaning on the motorways...

I've had my nails done... then went to the coffee shop and had a coffee just to stay out of the rain before going to the supermarket for a few bits..

From there drove back to my town.. to the Doctors' surgery ( office)... asked receptionist about an appointment, she said it couldn't be done..there was none available for at least 3 weeks.. she told me to go online to E-consult, and I might have a better chance of getting an appointment there.. ( I did tell her it what it was about )... .. then into the nurse at 3pm for my Pneumonia Vaccination.. and while I was there I mentioned about not being able to get an appointment for 3 weeks.. and she said she could arrange for me to see a Doctor in the evening at the Surgery on Tuesday night..

She tried to tell me reception might not always know about various available appointments, but it was clear she was covering for them.. because if anyone knows when there's appointments available it's Doctors' receptionists..that's their job..

Anyway.. the nurse was very sweet.. and thank goodness I had this appointment to get the Vax and mentioned the other thing to her.. otherwise I'd have a long wait to see someone..

Got home a little while ago... it's past 4pm now.. very dark outside due to the Rain.. and will be properly dark in about 1/2 an hour ..

Put the shopping in the Barn freezer.. had to dry the freezer down because of the humidity...and turned on the dehumidifier to dry it all out..

Put the washing in the dryer.. and the chicken in the AF.. and they've all now dried and cooked.. so I'm off to have a late lunch .. and a rest...:D

You got that right. I though if I dug deep enough, I'd come to the bottom of the roots, but they seem to go on forever down and outward. I dug down 8 inches and hit what seemed like concrete.
Indeed! Some are tougher than others due to root structure. If you have a thicker, main root travelling downward from the bottom of the stump, those are the worst because they are hard to get at with the axe to cut them. Almost have to have another person pry the stump to one side with the shovel while another person swings the axe at an angle to get at the main root - not easy! And, if you have a concrete slab in the way well. there's another difficult issue to deal with.

If I lived closer to you I'd come over and take a look. I bet we could get it out working together on it (y)

You've likely only got another few weeks before the deeper frost sets in and makes the ground unworkable. May have to put off until spring?

Had milk that was not going to be good in another day, so I bought two boxes chocolate pudding mix. Got it home and realized it was the kind you have to cook 🙄. Proceeded to follow directions, making sure to sprinkle the powder in gradually and whisk so i didn’t get lumps

I god chocolad powdah up by doze…. Ah-Choo! 🤧

Now to find individual serving containers… we will have chocolate pudding for quite a while 🍫
If you have popsicle molds, chocolate pudding makes excellent popsicles. 😋

I'll go back and catch up in a minute.

Left 15 minutes early because I couldn't stand the commotion. Bakery work area is very small. When it's me, Sir, TL, it's crowded. There were two more people there this morning, tripping over us and each other and being "helpful." I asked Sir if I could leave, he nodded, rolled his eyes toward the "crowd" and said he wished he could. LOL

Looking forward to Saturday when I work alone, all alone. Working alone is hard but not nearly as hard as when there's a damn convention being held in our tiny work space.

Oh. The cookies that were so ugly that the sales consultant said to throw them out? They got put in the break room for the employees. While I was up there a half dozen people looked at them and walked away without taking any. Yup. When they're free and nobody wants them, they're ugly🤣

K. Now I'm gonna go catch up.

That makes me so cross! I used to be with a surgery which sounds very similar, fortunately, I was able to sign up at a surgery nearby and they are so helpful, I have never had a problem getting an appointment. The problem is that you don't want to fall out with the surgery, especially as you have a possible health issue which you need to resolve. It might be worth bearing in mind though, when you move, to try and check out the surgeries in any potential area. You can Google for surgery reviews.

Given that you have told them you have a lump, I still think they should have offered you an earlier appointment but, Tuesday is not too long to wait and hopefully, the GP will be more helpful than the receptionists. 🤞 :)

it's really a PITA... I tried changing surgeries some time ago but in our town if you're registered with any in the area, no other surgery will take you as a patient.. which is appalling, it means some of us are stuck at best with inept Doctors.. and receptionists..

Since I was watching toddler grandson Mon & Tues, I missed a lot of posts.

First and foremost, @hollydolly, I hope and pray all is ok with you and am glad you have an appointment next week.

@Georgiagranny: great news about the new addition to your bakery. TL's departure from your department? Good riddance to bad rubbish!

Last night I had a nice dinner and gabfest with my book club buddies. It's always a very enjoyable evening out.

Today, I've got Roomba running (TGS is terrified of it, so it's programmed to run Wednesdays, Fridays and & Sundays at 9 am when he's not here). Am about to hit the kitchen to make some salads to get us through the next couple of days' lunches. Slow day today. My favorite kinda day!

It is appalling. Our surgery is an offshoot of the health centre, if we lived a road or two further up, we would be with the health centre rather than the surgery. The health centre actually has a good reputation but, I prefer the surgery. It is something that concerns me, that if we ever move, we would be extremely lucky to find another surgery as good as our current one. Really, all surgeries should offer the same level of service.

yes and they don't ..far from it..

Our surgery looks for all the world like a lovely place .it's a very smll market town surgery.. which started off being the best in town with 7 full time GP's..over the last few years all but one of those GP's have gone.. to be replaces by Locums.. and only 3 of those... and 2 out of 3 of them have obviously had terrible training because their bedside manner is awful... not country doctor at all..

At the previous surgery I was registered at, I arrived once to find my doctor was off ill so they had called in a locum who actually Googled my symptoms! Needless to say, that was the day I decided I had to find a new surgery!

@hawkdon Are you feeling better yet?

@-Oy- Thinking good thoughts for your mother!

@Sliverfox DD had that done a couple of months ago, then minor out-patient surgery to stretch her esophagus.

@hollydolly Geez. I think my doc would have sent me directly to imaging center. Like in Monopoly, without passing Go!
this is the NHS which is on it's knees... too many immigrants not enough hospitals or doctors..

they do that at my surgery too... At first I thought they were being rude not looking at me while I was talking, and instead typing on their computers.. and then I realised they were looking up Patient Info.. for the causes.. I can look up Patient info my darn self... .. it drives me nuts...and that's after usually waiting weeks to even see someone and then we're back out the door again in 8 minutes..

However , I'm fortunate that this GP I'm seeing on Tuesday knows her stuff.. she's about the only one who does.. trouble is her hands are tied.. she can only refer me on.. and then I'm stuck in the NHS wait queue.. for everything..
