Later this morning I have an appointment with my doctor. Yep....the actual doctor!!!! I usually get to see him once a year, for my annual wellness check. If I get sick, need a prescription, etc any other time, I have to see an APN. I really like my doctor (wish I could see him every time!!!!), so I'm actually excited to be going!

Morning routine just about over with.
Dog had his first walk now resting up from it.

Hubby & helper are working in the wood pile.

I took the dishes , & other stuff off the top shelf of cabinets, last evening.
Most of them have been washed.

Now to wash the cabinets , replace what needs put back up there.

I'm using a sturdy step ladder to do this work.

Hi guys...and girlies.. I feel like I've been away for a week, I've done so much since this morning. It's coming up to 3.20pm and I've been up since 2.30 AM

What an absolute PITA trying to get somewhere which would sell and fit an indicator bulb for me... I'll spare you the ridiculous details.. but suffice to say it took me 3 auto centres.. 3 different towns, one different county.. before I could get it done.. ... the one good thing tho' was that the sun had come out in the meantime..

trouble was I was in another county getting the car seen to.. when I needed to be in yet a different town and county for my hospital appointment.. anyway.. while the car was being done I quickly raced into the Frozen food shop ( Farmfoods)... and stocked up on ice cream and pies..so I don't have to make that trip again until next year...

Drove back in time for my appointment.. got there with 15 minutes to spare.. and there was no-one at all in the waiting room.. yet I was kept waiting 45 minutes over my time.. It's always a worry being kept late because we pay up front for parking, and if it runs outs we face an £80 fine..

Anyway I got seen.. not a doctor just a medical clerk.. her job was to assess if my doctors notes were correct .. she determined they were correct and indeed I need a Cortisone injection at least in my right knee.. that can't be done until the end of November ..

Left there and then drove North to drop off a Big bag of Donations at the Charity shop.. and then drive further on to Costco...

I hadn't eaten all day and it was now almost 2pm.. ( 12 hours after getting out of bed)... and I was delighted to see Hot Lamb chops being cooked on the demonstration stand, so I had a piece.. and then a piece of dark peppermint chocolate from another stand..

I'm absolutely knackered.. and my back is killing me ... but thank goodness the car is fixed and My knee is going to get seen to.. they're the 2 most important things.. 🙃☺️

What about the "other" thing?

Sounds like a money maker scheme. A clerk gets to decide if the doctor’s notes are correct? If this was truly needed, they could do it by phone or zoom.

Yesterday at my local KP campus got this year's flu vaccine but need to return today to pick up my next few month supply of daily medicine. Given the significant recent rise of CD rates, expect to go down to my BofA branch today and move a 6 figure chunk from useless savings into a CD.

I'm home. Warm and sunny. Tomorrow (a day off) is going to be a different story...cold and rainy. There are still things needing to be cleaned up in the garden, but I'm too tired so it probably won't get done.

I see that @hawkdon did the biscuit-and-gravy thing without me again:mad:

It was another brutal morning. When I got there, it was already chaos with TL crowding out everybody and everything. Deli manager from another store who was there yesterday was there again today trying to ride herd on TL and still get things done. There wasn't even a square inch of space for me to work.

Sir took one look at my face and knew I was about to turn around and go home. Instead he filled up two baskets of products and let me put it all out on the shelves...away from the kitchen where there was nobody around. Yay, Sir. I worked real slow and "arranged" things. Artistically. With an eye to an esthetically pleasing display:rolleyes: Mmhmm. R e a l s l o w. 🤣

Then...TL sliced two of her fingers right down to the bone. More chaos ensued. She refused to make an accident report, bled all over the place, finally located two bandaids to bind up the cuts before she just kept on getting in the way. What a nitwit.

Sir went to one of the store managers and reported the accident so that we could get her the heck outta there. Two hours of filling out reports.

She's supposed to see a doctor. Mmhmm. She's also supposed to work tomorrow. If she bothers to see a doc, she won't be in because she'll ask for a doc's note excusing her. Willing to bet money on it. However, she's used up all of her PTO and vacation time... Too freaking bad.

Only another week and a half before she's gone. It's gonna be a long week and a half!

Rant over.

Yesterday I had the pneumonia Vaccine.. with no side effects at all.. but today the site of the injection hurts like the devil.. like someone's punched me several times
That's what usually happens to me with vaccines. I'm fine the day of the shot, but the middle of the following night the injection site hurts and body aches or general malaise sets in for a day or so.

Good morning so far... Got my bedroom vacuumed (including floor of walk-in closet) thoroughly and dusted. Made the trip to the library in the next town for Mystery book club meeting... very interesting. We had read A. Christie's, "Murder at the Vicarage" (first Ms. Marple novel) and L. Penny's 2nd Inspector Gamache novel, "A Fatal Grace." Lots of great discussion. Of course, occasionally we will get off track, but our leader, Travis, is very good about keeping us on topic (It's like herding cats some meetings, haha)

Picked up ingredients from the store for two soups to make in the next day or so as it will definitely be soup weather. Corn bread will also be made =)

Now I'm going over to Ed's to visit; he had a pain shot to his back yesterday, I hope it helps.

Today I was out and about with my daughter, we had a pub lunch and noticed on the bar some little Bovine Menus offering treats for dogs ! It even had ‘Bone Appetit’ written at the end of the list  my daughter, being animal mad befriended a dog visiting the pub with his owner and bought him a treat....

Well, I decided it was time to get some cleaning done. My (late) hubby always ran the sweeper downstairs and I run the sweeper upstairs. Since the downstairs hasn't been touched since he died (Oct. 13th) and I figured he wasn't coming back to get it done, I got out the sweeper and did it. We have tri-level house so there's a lot of carpet and stairs and it takes a while to do it. Then, I dusted. It needed it, too. Lots of stuff I have to do now by myself, like winterizing the lawn tractor. Had no idea how to do that but my step-daughter and her husband (who live in AZ) told me what to do. One thing at a time :)
