The birdies woke me up around 5:30,even with the window closed I heard them, there is a big tree right outside my window. I did manage to go back to sleep for 45 min.
On my early morning walk at 6:30,temp was 45 walked to convient store to buy local paper
My long walk of the day was strolling to Walgreens which is 6 blocks from my apt building. This was the 1st time I could walk without any pain in my right knee-cortisone shot is working It took me 25 min {which is how long it usually takes me}. I bought a couple items, then walked another block to grocery store,Price Right, got 4 items, then took the bus home
I'm about to take another short walk to the mailbx at the end of my street,no other plans except read NYT/local paper, my book. Tonight I'll watch 'Barnwood Builders' on Magnolia network, at 9pm I discovered this show one evening when I was 'channel surfing' during Covid, after 1 episode I was hooked, something different

It's just past 2pm... the rain has stopped now, but it rained all the way to London and most of the way back. I stopped of at M&S and got some pineapple tarts...

You wouldn't believe there's a recession on.. M&S foodhall was jam packed... and to give those of who don't know.. M&S food is at least a 3rd more than most other supermarkets...
Do you think a lot of the shopping is for Easter gatherings?

Fiddlesticks. Car is on its last legs and refuses to drive all the way over here so no visit this week. It will take DSIL to work, rest during the day, then take him back home again, less than five miles each way. Anything more is a real crapshoot. They are checking out rentals by the day...one called Zip cars and another call GetAround...for another day when they can plan other places they need to go, too. Darn :( I guess it'll be Zoom calls for a while.

I always tidy up before they come so at least the patio and The Hovel are neat and clean for a few days🧹

But...to make up for it, DD is taking me to the garden centers this afternoon.

I took the books to Retired Lady this morning, and she loves them. Says she can show her friends and family that Americans don't all live in mansions and the streets aren't paved with gold:)

This is why I choose to sleep at the front of the house. Altho' I have a large tree at the front... the birds don't sit in it for long.. but in the back garden, I have many more trees and of course I have the bird feeders hanging from them, so the birds start squawking and singing as soon as there's a glimpse of light, which currently is at 6.15am

Pleased the cortisone shot is working for you Sue.. , I think I'm going to have to ask my doctor to refer me for one.. the pain in my knee is really getting me down now.. and the left knee is starting to play up too..

Hi folks....50 deg here now, was colder this a.m., but what
the heck it is springy like outside at least sunshine....got my
barberess coming this eve to chop all the hair off again...seems
to grow awfully fast as I get older...usual aches and pains today
but not too bad....so take care all...make it a good day..... :p

Yesterday I managed 15 minutes of exercise. I also went out on the balcony several times, just briefly (because it was cold).

I've been trying to figure out how to make the most of my balcony. I had considered using some of my exercise equipment out there, but then I'd want to put up a privacy screen, which I've decided not to do.

So I've come up with some no-equipment exercises I can do on the balcony, more or less discreetly: hamstring curls, calf raises, side and rear leg raises, and a few others. I can also do some leg straightening (for quadriceps) while lying in my gravity chair.

I know from experience that this kind of exercise alone is not enough for me. But it's fine as an "extra," and will encourage me to spend more time on the balcony.

Other than that ... I have yet to figure out the telescope.

Try to increase my indoor exercise a bit.

Talk to my language partner this evening.

Your exercise is inspiring mine. ♥

I remember doing small exercises like you've mentioned, (pushups against a wall or countertop, leg raises in a chair, tiny crunches while still in bed), when I couldn't do more. I need to start there again and build back up.
