In my downtime, I transcribe historical documents for the Library of Congress or the Smithsonian Institute. Basically they have scanned old documents and you type them. You can type just a word, a sentence, a paragraph or a page. It's a volunteer job and it's really interesting and educational. I have transcribed playbills, phyllis diller jokes, civil war diaries, theodore roosevelt campaign notes, fine art, things about science, space, etc. If you google either of those sites, you can register a name and start typing. If you are better at proofreading, you can do that too.

Darned cat🐈‍ peed on the bed and made me get up at 430! I dunno which made me angrier...having to wash the spread at 4:30 or having to get up early on my day off.

DD's kitty is getting adventurous and eases on over here every now and then. Maggiecat doesn't seem to mind. Yesterday afternoon Nutmeg was curled up in a corner behind my sofa taking a cat nap.

This morning DD and I are going to the garden center to see if there's anything in yet that's on my list, then doing our Walmarting so I'll probably have spending to report on the What Have You Bought Recently thread.

Again, darned cat🐈

I think that Maggiecat may be jealous of another kitty coming into her space. She is marking her territory. You are likely to see a cat fight at some point unless you know a way to make them both happy. I do not know cats but I have dogs. They take a couple of weeks to really settle in and accept another dog as a pack member. I have never had a problem bringing a puppy into the family it has only been the adult dogs. They need time to figure out who the new dog is and where they will fall into the pack. There will always be scuffles but for the most part can coexist with any additions to the family.

Usual cleaning chores, enjoying the chorus outside.

The showing of the house that was scheduled for Saturday at 5:00 has been rescheduled for today at 5:00.
The clients were running really late, he was having unexpected issues at work…..waited to hear but was getting late, the realtor had another appointment.

So, will pack up the guys again today, and go cruising while the house is shown.

Morning all....getting myself awake so I can prepare
for care lady today...she gets here at 11am...last eve the
maint guy came and took away groundhog in trap, its'
mate was sitting in front yard watching...hopefully it too
will be gone soon....supposed to rain today and we could
use a bit....make it a good day okay?! ;)

Errands, a visit to the garden center, grocery shopping. It all wore me out. The groceries have been put away, I have flowers that need to be planted, then there's a nap that needs to be taken🛌

DD hadn't seen her kitty all morning. Why? Because he came over here. I texted her that he was here if she'd like to visit. She did. They left together. LOL

My day's been great so far... and the best part is that I just got a haircut 💇‍♀️ from my daughter. It had been halfway down my back and now after she chopped about 6 inches off, it's still below my shoulders but feeling much lighter. Might give myself a pedi next and call it a "Pamper Kate" day. (y)

I've done very little today . There's been heavy rain which means hunkering down indoors for me ... and even now the rain has stopped and the sun is out there's very high winds.. and I hate the wind above all else.. so another reason for me to stay home.

It's 6.30pm.. I've got chicken drumsticks in the Air fryer... and I'll have those for dinner with Broccoli Cheese and potato rissoles..

I am taking a break from yard work. Then I have to decide whether or not to take a chance and move a small tree. Park rules say no more planting trees, but moving an existing tree is not the same....or is it????
I would say it's not the same Lee.. you're only making one hole..not more...

Ive been to the garden centre and bought some more compost, it was very busy , but mostly for the resturant ..the day as been a mix of Hail ,thunder , strong winds..I sat in the green house with a cup of tea , it was warmer than inside the house ..

I'm going to have to order some compost and some white garden stones.. but I'm no longer capable of picking up a heavy sack, so I'll have to have them delivered..

@hollydolly ....I had my Son to do the heavy lifting otherwise I would normally have it delivered along with Bark to lay down , it keep my dogs paws clean .
I always buy Miracle Grow Compost now , it seems to make things grow bigger and better

@hollydolly ... or you could do what I do. I have a wheeled garden cart. Roll it up to the back of the car, empty whatever into the cart, wheel it to the spot where I want to use it.

Mona lavender and portulaca are planted. Took off my garden boots and gloves, came in, washed my paws, then remember that I didn't fill the bird feeder. It'll have to wait until after I have some lunch (biscuits and gravy, not very nourishing but filling) and a nap.

I like your post box bird house.

Still aiming at getting back to the horse rescue. May not happen this week, but I'm getting there, one way or the other.

I played chess with my son today and I won. Woot, baby! :) He's always so gracious about it and patiently waits while I take a picture of the board for posterity. Yeah, it's pitiful, I know; don't judge me. 😶

Thing is, he's a better player than I am so I'm really freaking happy when I win.

I'd like to get out more this week; some walks with the dog; I like the way he sees the world.

Other than the above, blast music over my headphones, color, play pc games... laundry...

Oh, duh, and taking care of my poor husband in the mornings as he has a pinched nerve and needs meds in the mornings which must be taken with food. So I get up and make him some eggs and toast, set up pills, do whatever dishes are around, get his coffee ready for when he wakes up for real.

I started the search again for a new doctor. The one I've had for the last 20 years or more retired last August. Then I got a new one that I didn't care for. I saw her twice and POOF! she's gone.

I'm running out of prescription meds in a couple of weeks and I need a renewal.

I'd like to stay with the same practice, which has lots of locations, but nobody is accepting new patients. I called the one I'd like to go with and they said they didn't even have a PA appointment until June. But, thank goodness, she had a cancellation for 7:15 tomorrow morning to see a PA for prescription renewal.

I'm pretty sure if I get my toe in the door, they'll keep me. It's not like I need to see my GP all that often. For urgent things like bronchitis, etc., I just go to Urgent Care down the street.
