Good morning, World, and all who inhabit it! 🌞:coffee: (I'm identifying as SpongeBob today, I guess... that's his quote!) I'm having my coffee right now, and then I'll have to start my day. It's bill paying day again (they sure do come around faster every month!) Also want to look for some new recipes to add to next week's menu. The rest of the day will be spent organizing and hopefully downsizing the spare/storage room, so busy day on tap.

mornin' folks.... it's a glorious sunny day 🌹🌼🌻☀️☀️...it' 10.25 am.. I've got the wheelie bins in after they've been emptied, and I've trimmed back the roses over the front door.

I've got scrambled egg on toast and a hot cuppa tea.. then hopefully if I feel up to it..I'll get out and do stuff I didn't get doing yesterday.

When I get back I need to mow the lawns...

Have a super day folkies...

It says that you can cut it easily to size. I wonder if you have done that with any of yours, and if it was then fine, without any edging?
I have smaller spaces, that could use material like that.
I cut two of them to size and they came out fine. The mats don't have hems, bias tape or other edge finish, so the edges look the same before and after trimming.

I laid the mat in the shower and used a Sharpie marker to mark just outside where I wanted to cut. Then cut outside that line so the Sharpie marks were gone. Put it back in place and trimmed tiny bits here and there, as needed. It was a ten minute job that only needed a marker and a good pair of scissors.

Going to walk to the park this morning. After that just doing my daily chores around here. It is presently 57 degrees so didn't turn my air conditioner on yet.
57 degrees… man! That sounds divine

Yesterday was a full day with volunteering, chiropractic appt, visiting Ed and then spending the afternoon with older granddaughter while little sis was at speech therapy.

She had homework on the Great Depression, so we discussed that. My mom was a child during that period, so I could give her some stories from the common person’s view. My grandpa was a railroad man, so although he had less hours, he always had work. But I tried to emphasize to her the mindset that you Never Wasted Anything.

And I showed her pics of the dust bowl and Oakies…. Probably the thing that got her attention the most was the concept that a lot of times, moms had to make girls dresses, etc, out of flour sacks or other material… she’s got a lot of skin sensitivities and is very particular about her clothes. Brought it home to her

Today is a little more laid back…. Some cleaning and cooking this AM, visit Ed, and make a Walmart/grocery store run.

On the phone with my brother. Our little sister passed away this morning.
Cathy was a registered nurse and worked all the up until she got sick.
She was 66 and never enjoyed a single day of retirement.
Found a lump on her breast and was going through chemo therapy.
She'd had an adverse reaction to the chemo drugs and they were adjusted.
Cathy didn't complete the chemo rounds.

Cathy was admitted to the hospital just yesterday, because of the continuing adverse reaction to her chemo treatment. She did not do well last night. She was on a ventilator and experiencing organ failure. The doctor said there was a higher chance of her not surviving than surviving. Well, they got her husband, Jesse, up to the hospital this morning. Jesse is 81 and recovering from broken hip and broken leg surgery. They couldn't get Cathy's blood pressure up. They took her off the ventilator and she passed away peacefully.

It all happened so quickly. Here one day and gone the next.

Last pictures of Cathy. She sent them to me a couple of weeks ago

I’m so very sorry for the loss of your sister.
God needed her sooner than later.
She looks like the perfect picture of life with her amazing smile.
Her smile will continue in your hearts, memories, and souls from heaven.
She will be right beside you and all the family to help you continue on.
“ Rest In Peace Cathy “ You are loved from near and far.

Warm here today with a high of 93. A couple of days of this and the pool will again be a comfortable swimming temp. Sunday/Monday's 5.25" of rain cooled it down about 12°F.

Yesterday I threw in a load of laundry early, then went to get my hair lowlighted and cut. Afterwards took care of some electronic chores (cleared old emails, set up DH's printer, worked on HS reunion docs, etc.) Then settled back and watched more of the Little League World Series. I do love the LLWS!!!

Today will be much of the same. Laundry, computer stuff, maybe the grocery store, then LLWS games.

In the Be Careful What You Say department…. Ed and I sat for almost an hour on the porch of his facility. During that time a text came thru from middle son…. I responded and dropped the phone back in my purse

Didn’t realize until later that somehow I pressed the audio button and when I next looked at the screen, the whole conversation with Ed was recorded! 🙄😆😂.

Good thing I didn’t automatically press send as well, haha
