I HAD to travel 45 miles to the Missouri State Capitol today. The Medical Pot I use for pain management has completely dried up in the Columbia vicinity. I am almost out and a store in Jefferson City had some ( on sale ). So I took off at 9am. Come along for the ride. :)

Have you ever waited for a consignment to arrive? Guaranteed that if I so much as go out of earshot of the doorbell a, "Sorry we missed you," card will drop through the letterbox. It's even more frustrating in that I'm waiting for a pair of made to measure trousers, a cut price promotion that my tailor offered. They will go perfectly with one of my blazers and reduce the to do list on my lady's sewing projects.

The frustration comes from the fact that I have an appointment with my tailor on Thursday, I could have simply collected them whilst there. However, my tailor's partner is seriously ill, my guess is that if he has to stand me up, at least I will have my trousers, so I should be grateful and stop being selfish.

...the temps have finally broken... it's 70 deg outside and overcast... although in my house its still 80 i. even with the windows open. Last night it was still very hot in bed.

Got up this morning and now I don't even have hot water in my bathroom.. that's now no water at all upstairs... :eek: I had to go and wash and brush my teeth in the kitchen sink... jeez.... :(

If my amazon delivery gets here soon, I may go to the indoor swimming pool and use their showers..

There are about 8 dispensaries in the Columbia area. I have a Medical Marijuana card. You have to do a zoom meeting with a doctor to get it. I am not sure, but I think you can grow your own. It wouldn't work for me, because I need a specific strain. Plus have a back thumb. :)
 
Same morning routine. Orange juice drink, then coffee. Did dishes, once a day. Snoozed twice, had lunch then later on dinner (leftovers) but unable to eat much too hot so stomach wasn't cooperative...

Searched for dancing in my corner, found a few just waiting for replies. One's a bit far up so unsure if we'll go. Three trains, 2 hours, ummmm.... Just for an hour and half of fun. Yup, reconsidering lol.

Got bit disappointed that a great series called "True Lies" based in the film by James Cameron was cancelled by NBC after just one season. Bummer!

Next on list, The Glades. Sounds very interesting so far 😀

Oh I didn't know. We had one chain similar here called "Au Naturel". It closed down while back as well. Sorry, if I'd known I'd recommend something or somewhere else like Costco or Walmart ... My bad!

Today is our anniversary. We were going to start the festivities with Dio's dental appointment, then continue the party by running errands. Ending up with dinner at whatever restaurant he picked. Well, the Dentist's office called last night, and cancelled his appointment. Now it's raining. So I'm not sure what I'll be doing today.

Nothing real exciting on the days list……usual cleaning chores……folding up laundry…..the required walks for Micki and me.
2 deliveries today, and one on Thursday, and one on Friday…..have times ranges on these, which is nice.
I thought once I moved here, I would be in the stores 24/7, since it’s been so long since I’ve spent time in stores……I was wrong…..I’ve been to grocery stores, pharmacy, Canadian Tire, because I went for certain things……Walmart for certain things, I did have a good walk around last time, somewhat disappointed with Walmart.
I have not yet gone through the mall, closest to me, or any of the other malls.

It turns out I still continue not to want to be in stores for any length of time……still like online shopping.

Just got a text…..that one of the orders is on their way to me, shortly. 😊.
 
Woke up at 3:30 and couldn't fall back asleep so cut bait on that enterprise and got up at 4:30. Am awaiting an update on baby grandson's fever. Last night it spiked back up to 103°. No other illness symptoms.

His pediatrician suspects an adenovirus (I'd never heard of them before) that will hopefully resolve in a few days. In the meantime DIL keeps knocking the fever down to 100° with Tylenol and Motrin and is pushing fluids.

He doesn't have much of an appetite but she says his mood is ok most of the time. Sleeping more than usual - a good thing.

Weather is beautiful! High today of 88° (30% humidity) and low of 64°. The next two weeks our forecast shows highs in the high 70s to mid 80s with overnights lows around 60°. Not much chance of rain or high winds. So it'll be a time of no HVAC day or night; I'll keep the house open to bring in just plenty of fresh air.

My back and leg are finally feeling better (yay!) so today I'll knock some household chores off the list.

Well the plumber has been, he was baffled at first couldn't work out what had gone wrong.... but eventually he found where the problem lay and has fixed it.. took 2 hours, he had to go into the loft as well.. but hopefully that's all done now..

He was an old school friend of my Daughter.. so he was catching me up on all her old friends from school and what they were up to today... we played the 'remember when/who and what ever happened to'' Game

He didn't realise until he got here that he knew who lived at this address..
 
@hollydolly Yay! You have water. Running water. Both hot and cold. Woohoo and stuff.

I'm home from the baking wars. TL was on the schedule from 5am-1pm today. No TL and no word. What? Sir was there before I left and helped me package stuff. I ❤️ Sir (most of the time)!

Now I'm resting my bony self after drinking an iced coffee on the patio while admiring my garden. No watering today just in case we get the rain that's forecast. If they lied again, watering will happen tomorrow.
 
The worker is here from the property mgmt co., digging in a small area hoping to find the water shut-off valve. (stop tap), so the plumber can cut holes in my walls to re-pipe my entire condo.

This should have all been done by last week, but for the invisible shut-off. My belongings have been in boxes, bags or covered with sheets of plastic for days.

Well, at least something has been started.

Good to hear this seems relatively minor. I looked it up. My hugs to that baby. Good to her your back and leg issue is better.

Thank gawd that's taken care of, Holly. We both have water issues lately. You couldn't get any; I can't shut mine off.:)
