Both are great, HD, but I just saved the one with the old sailor even though he looks nothing like me! I didn't know I could save pictures right from your posts! And there, at one time, I was so into everything "computer" that people asked for my advice! How the mighty have fallen!
super job... great avatar...I like it, as you say not like you.. but doesn't matter a jot, you can always change it if you have a mind to, now you know how..(y)

Well, my Thursday was not as typical as I had expected. I was at The Fitness Center, just starting my workout, and I see my Mom come in!!!!! She was there to sign up for a membership!!!!

She never ceases to surprise and amaze me!!! 💗

After my workout I went to Wal-Mart. I'm almost completely out of coffee at home....and they were out of my brand!!! I ended up getting a different brand. (sigh)

I went to Walmart for a few things, bread, sodas, an onion. I wanted some Walmart brand kettle potato chips. This is the second time I have been this week and they are out again. Frustrating!

Went to the pharmacy and picked up my muscle relaxers, 3 months supply, 360 pills, cost was 82.00. And yes I have very good insurance, really not that bad considering the amount of medication.

Called the doc and made an appointment to go have my blood work done and get refills for all the rest of the crap I have to take.

Back in the day, I only had to go once a year for this. Now, it is required every six months. Is it just because I am getting older? They say insurance requires it.
No skin off my nose, just pay 20.00 for the visit and all the tests. It is also time for mammogram and CT scan of lungs. Those will be free.

I used to smoke so they pay for me to have the CT once a year.

I just collected my meds from the pharmacy...100 Co-codomol tablets for my Arthritic pain... 2 months of Lansoprazole, and 120 capsules of and 4 asthma inhalers ( a reliever, and a preventer) .cost ?...Nothing...zero, nada, zilch.
All prescription drugs are free to everyone over 60..

Not bad, HD. I come close in New Brunswick. I pay CA $5.00 per prescription and with eight prescriptions in my medicine cabinet, I am not complaining!

The little grocery store where we get our coffee, had a sale on County Ribs so I got inspired. Please note that I have never made this before and don't have a clue what I'm doing. I have put my trust in Mr Google! If you don't hear from me later.....well, you can assume that Mr Google poisoned me!

Interesting. I had never heard of Country Ribs before; only back ribs and side ribs.

Let us know how they turn out. It appears these have more meat on them and are from a different area of the pig than side or back ribs. I would think cooking very low and slow would likely be best, as it is with other types of pork so it doesn't dry out. Also. either cooking a good part of the time wrapped in foil will keep them moist as well as they stew in their own juices. Perhaps even a crock pot recipe may be ideal for these?
I've made back ribs like that, too. But County Ribs are not really a rib, but a cut from the shoulder! Go figure!

Anyway, they were delicious!!!! And so easy!!!!

I didn't follow the recipe exactly, but this is what I used....
Crock Pot BBQ Country Style Ribs
I had never heard of Country Ribs before so I'm glad you posted how things went. When I looked them up on the internet, I found the same thing you described here - shoulder cut rather that the typical back or side rib.

I had the same thought about how best to cook them ... Crock Pot Recipe would likely be best for a tasty & tender outcome!
Glad they turned out well and were hassle free (y)

My inlaws called them backbone. They cooked low and slow in a smoker. I don't have that so I cook them low and slow in the oven. I like to put them in a marinade overnight or for a few hours. I add liquid smoke to kind of give them the flavor of the grill. Spices, all the normal stuff you put in a dry rub.

Here it is morning again, and it's off to immerse myself in bread dough and croissants. There's a lot to do on Friday to get stocked up and ready for the weekend.

Guess I'll find out this morning whether TL was back at work yesterday. I sure hope so. If not? Oh, well.

And I'll know at noon when next week's schedule is posted whether I'm back on the 6-12 hours again.

Gotta go throw on my duds.

Y'all have a perfectly splendid morning.

Well, I am having my usual quiet day and am loving it! It's nice not to feel sick except for the usual age related stuff, of course! When I was diagnosed with bladder cancer I expected to have to say goodbye to this group long before now, and here I sit feeling disgustingly well instead! (y):) I hope the tumor will keep taking its time! I love life!

At the moment I am responding to posts, reading my Spenser book in between, and just came back from my second pedalling on my stationary bike in two days. I don't like how weak my legs have become and hope to strengthen the muscles a bit. I did 3 minutes yesterday on moderate tension, and upped it to four minutes today. I know that's pitiful but I believe in taking it easy at this stage in my life! Last time I pushed myself too hard and ended up having cramps for days!

This evening will be special. We (my daughter, son-in-law and I) are going to watch a Champions League Soccer game. Bayern Muenchen vs. Manchester United! Both are excellent teams so it should be great. They played yesterday so we are watching the game on DAZN. To enhance my evening even further, my daughter will be making Bread Dumplings, Goulash and Red Cabbage for me. Life doesn't get much better than that!
There will be no saying goodbye to us for you Young Man! :D Who else is so like minded that I could I discuss my favorite TV shows with? I'm very glad to read that you are feeling "disgustingly well".

Breakfast this morning at one of our fave cafes - inside a local garden centre. £5 for a really nice cooked breakfast before 10:30am :)

As for the rest of the day - it's sheeting down with rain so no real plans yet other than looking forward to a new lens arriving later. It's a brand new design that is replacing one of my most often used for events and weddings etc. The old one has just about had it.

Thanks, I'm glad that I was able to pass it along.

I hardly ever use my crockpot, and I did use it for the County Ribs either. Instead, I used my "slow cooker". The meat was as tender as could be and it was ready in 3 1/2 hours.
