What exercise have you done today?

Me too. Mine was from YouTube, a chair exercise on. I am embarrassed at how exhausting it was, how I hoped it would end SOON.

I used to really work out. Four and a half hours a day was my habit.
Wow. I never did more than an hour or two at a time but I was regular. For years I got up at 4:30, jumped rope for 21 minutes and then did intense calisthenics for 12 minutes, 6 days a week. That was in my forties. In my 20's and 30's I'd go out and run hard for 2 or 3 miles then come home and do ballet barre exercises until my legs were trembling. Finally in my 50's I switched to aerobic DVD's like Richard Simmons or Leslie Sansone and that could go past an hour sometimes. I loved to exercise! Turn up the music and go hard.

Once I broke my leg it all had to stop.

But you know, Pepper, at least we're doing something. I think all that working out we did in the past gave us a strong base with good hearts and lungs and now we just need to wake it up a little each day.

These days, I actually think that when I stand at the barre (kitchen sink) and align my spine and neck the way I used to do for ballet -- that causes a muscle memory reaction that lasts throughout the workout and extends into the rest of the day. So just that ten minutes sets us up, mentally and physically, for a better day.

I am similar, my knees are too painful for walking anywhere. I do a gentle daily stretching routine each morning then just housework. I pace myself, just stay steady but moving. I don't just sit there ever, but I can't overdo things either.
I used to do beginner stretching that's on YouTube. I'm going to push myself to get back there. I greatly need to do something and I believe it's about all I can do now. I hear you on the knee pain. I have it too. Good luck to you with the stretching ❣️

I used to work out like crazy 30 years ago. I don't know what happened to me.

Bench Presses. All reps done with a full pause at the chest. No bouncing. I have a metric set so everything is in Kilograms.

20KG X 10
40KG X 8
60KG X 4
60KG X 4
60KG X 4
60KG X 4

Not feeling quite as inspired today as I did the other day. ;)

I couldn't do the ballet barre work today because I discovered that my bad left leg refused to support me while I did kicks with my right leg. It did it yesterday, but I guess that was a one and done for the cranky thing. And of course joints aren't like muscles, they don't get better with more use.

So I did about 3 minutes of what calisthenics I could still do and the 4 minute nitric oxide release work out, which I can do standing with my weight balanced on both legs. I'm glad there's still something I can do.
