Thank you, Olivia! The cat bite was really nasty, it had to be cleaned and packed every day to make sure the puncture wounds drained properly. I had to go to the hospital daily for more than two weeks to have the packing removed, the wounds cleaned, and then repacked. They also gave me a tetanus shot and a rabies booster, actually, two boosters, because I told the doctor I’d feel less anxious with a second one. So they gave me another three days after the first. I had the full rabies vaccination series back in 2019 so I only really needed one booster. The treatment also included two weeks of amoxicillin. Anyway, my hand is all healed up. Also, I still feed the cat, but we are no longer buddies.

This morning, I did my usual toning, but gave myself a break with yoga. I'm just not feeling the yoga lately and have been doing more sustained stretching after toning, without the meditative state and yoga poses. Ironically, I can't get into yoga right now because my mind is so uncalm. :/

It is what is it. I'll get back to the yoga when I can focus enough to do it.

OMG! IT didn't occur to me that it could get that bad, but, yes. l know that cat bites can be really bad and Wow! You went through
hell! l'm really glad you started treatment quickly. l hope you get all better soon and lt's kind of you to stay good to the cat. Yours? They don't do that kind of thing purposely. Something must have startled it.

They don't do that kind of thing purposely. Something must have startled it.

The cat came in through my open bathroom window and went to sleep on my bedroom floor, as he has done before. However, when I attempted to lift him up and remove him, he grabbed my right hand with his claws and sank his fangs into it. And, to add insult to injury, the little b*****d came in the next day and peed on my backpack.

When that happened, I grabbed my kayak paddle and chased him out the way he had come in. (Note: the cat is one of ten cats on my block that I feed.) Anyway, my hand has healed, and my total bill was only $687.89 U.S., of which Kaiser Permanente paid $580.11. I should also mention that I was lucky that Thailand has such great medical facilities. In fact, they are among the best in the world.

l wasn't aware that Thailand has such great medical facilities. I'm glad for you that they do. And it is so kind of you to
feed all those cats. That shows a caring heart. l understand now that having been asleep that the cat was startled. That doesn't
make it feel any better for you

Do you do all of your swimming exercises in Thailand where you live?

Health Care Index by Country 2025 Thailand is a medical hub, People from all over the wold come here for medical treatment, including the Saudi Royal Family and many Americans.

Yes, Olivia, I use our 50 meter community pool in the late afternoon and early evening when I have it to myself and can get my lap swimming in. However, sometimes I walk across the road and swim at the beach.

Do you live in Honolulu? I lived in Waikiki way back in 1961 at 239-C Kapili Street-----which has long since been torn down. I was only 19 years old then and practically lived in the surf in my free time.

Yes, Honolulu. In 1961, l was around six or seven and lived on a side street off Kapahulu Avenue which you are likely
familiar with, only a few blocks from WAIKIKI BEACH. 1It's still there. After that, lots of moving around because of my dad's U.S. Army career, At age ten the assignmen was in Taichung, Taiwan. It was the days of bomb shelters in the front yard of every home in the military compound where we lived. l was sad to leave there as l also felt with with every other numerous new assignments. The last was in Belgium. That was my life from the age of three to eighteen when we got back to Hawaii.

How is it that you live in Thailand? That would undoubtedly be an interesting story to hear.
