I used to live in that general area. I lived near Lake Mayfield, which is just south of Centralia/Chehalis. I really miss living in Washington, especially western Washington.
If I could live anywhere in the whole world, I would live somewhere near Astoria, Oregon, which is just across the river from Washington State.
There are beautiful little towns all up and down the seaside in both states, and Astoria is a large enough town to have everything I needed, and small enough to easily drive around in.
We lived in Spokane when Mt. St. Helens erupted, so even though we were not impacted by the eruption itself, we definitely got our share of the ash fallout, which blanketed most of Washington State, and parts of Idaho and Montana.
