I just read this whole thread and I can't get over the boys on the bus beating up a nine year old girl and the school saying they are overwhelmed with violence.

I think the reason for this is that we've decided to have children without getting married first and these kids, boys in particular, grow up in fatherless homes. It's usually fathers who teach boys that "two against one' is wrong, that it's shameful for a boy to hit a girl and a hundred other things that boys will listen to from a father, but not so much from their mother.

I think this is at the root of many of our problems today, but no one will talk about it for fear of hurting someone's feelings. Two parents worked well for thousands of years until about forty years ago and now we're seeing the consequences of thinking we only need one.

People on forums who ruin others' fun. We'll be in a thread having a good time, and someone will undoubtedly post something negative, sticking a pin in the balloon. If they can't participate in good humor, they should have enough consideration to refrain from posting their negative comments. Some people do it repeatedly. They seem to enjoy spoiling the fun.

Also, putting down other countries and pointing out how their country is better. Give it a rest, every country has its own problems. Putting down, ridiculing, and passing judgment on common folk or celebrities for their lifestyle choices. I'm sure the people doing it all live exemplary lives and are above reproach in all aspects. Posting photos of people who are born naturally deformed because they think it's funny, or posting photos of people who've had plastic surgery and then ridiculing them when it's obvious that those individuals have mental problems with their body image. Calling more attention to it isn't at all helpful. It's worse than unkind; it's dreadful and downright cruel. There must be something else these people can post that doesn't involve put-downs and ridicule.

All great points! I will own this one since I posted pics of Madonna's plastic surgery. Even though she is one of the most successful musical artists in history, she clearly has issues with insecurity. I was just more fascinated with the psychology of it all. My apologies.

* Tricked into fatherhood by women who wanted a baby at all costs and secretly stopped using birth control.
* Tricked into fatherhood by women who believed having a child is the best way to save a dysfunctional marriage and secretly stopped using birth control.
* Shunned by jealous women who initiated a pact with their child(ren) to deny us affection.
* Victims of women who use the child(ren) as “guilt” leverage to make visitation as difficult as possible.
* Victims of loathing women who instilled dislike/hatred into the child(ren) against us.

Above is a short list of reasons why good men are absent. For a long list of reasons why bad men are absent …. you need no help in putting one together.

Extremism.....conspiracy theorist and people that spread misinformation....people that think the 'big bad government' is out to get them...people that see the buggyman behind every tree.

I see your point of view and I agree but it's not entirely unfair to finger the government that blames everything on the "far right" or "far left" or "Democrats" or "Republicans" or "Reformists" or "Communists" or "Socialists" or "the population" or "Russia" or "Putin" or "Collusion" or ..... Actually, we are talking about the same thing. The difference is that you see a divide between government and Extremist/conspiracist/misinformationists/disinformationists while I see them as one and the same.

Of course, one must be careful of the pickpockets on transport, , flea markets, rough areas, but most areas I visit still safe even at night. Worst hazard to seniors nowadays : scooters, traffic, streetworks, huge tourist busses, loud, rude and infections tourists.

Many of them are well involved in their children's lives. They just don't all live in the same house. Joint custody arrangements are now the rule rather than the exception.

As the product of a bad marriage, I can say with (anecdotal) authority that it's hell on earth for children to endure the tension of a marriage that should have ended long before.

Many SF members raised their children for some period without the bio father in the home. Would be interested in how they think it worked out. Would it have been better for the child(ren) to have stayed together?

While my marriage has worked out quite well with my children's father, I know many families where it didn't and the children all turned out just fine.

If I don't answer right away, I have a reason: I don't want to answer, I'm busy at the moment, I didn't receive the message ... some kind of reason. If you want to nudge me in the direction of answering, I'd prefer a more respectful method. Plain words might be best.

As @StarSong mentioned, it works in her family, and I'm glad. I know we're all different. I just don't relate to people that way, and others might not either.

Circling back to this. I don't send my friendly digit-tapping skeleton simply because my kids don't text me back immediately. Life is very busy for them and I'm very respectful of that.

Sometimes though, I'm waiting for clarification or specifics on something I need to know. Usually it's when we're trying to schedule together or I'm doing a grandchild pickup. If I've already texted or asked a few times with no response, Mr. Skeleton might get rolled out.

An answer like, "I don't know yet, am trying to get more details and should know in a few hours." suffices.

Ignoring texts is bad manners. Even if I am their mother. Especially because I'm their mother.

The 'sadistic' boyfriend of a murdered baby boy's mother 'cruelly' mutilated the 15-month-old's *******s and beat him so badly that he couldn't see, a court has heard today.

Jacob Lennon died after he was rushed to hospital from the family home in Putney, southwest London with serious head injuries in August 2019.

A post-mortem examination found injuries consistent with horrendous long-term abuse, including the the mutilation of his testicles, which were also swollen ,and an injury to the ***** 'consistent with application of blunt force such as through extreme pinching or possibly through biting.

Mother Louise Lennon, 32, and her boyfriend Jake Drummond, 33, both face charges arising from Jacob's death.

Drummond denies murdering Jacob and a further charge of wounding the baby with intent in relation to earlier injuries, which include one caused to the *******s with a sharp object.

Vicar David Renshaw, 63, had more than 22,000 files of indecent images and videos on his hard drive, including animal pornography.

The reverend, from Worthing, West Sussex, said he had few limits and could sink 'really low', telling other paedophiles online: 'I'm a sadistic b******. Through and f****** through.'

His activities were traced by police, who found rotting dead animals, used needles and drug pipes when they raided his parish home. The RSPCA also seized severely malnourished dogs, cats and chickens.

As a jury returned a guilty verdict for eight counts of extreme pornography at Lewes Crown Court, Judge Christine Henson KC told Renshaw he faces a lengthy prison term when he is sentenced next month.

The images which the jury had to witness were so horrific, they all were offered therapy afterwards...
