What are you doing today 2023

To the Aquarium, dear friend?
I know you had that difficult place to go on Saturday,

but yesterday was a possible outing with your son, right?
Thinking of you, whatever you mean by your post. 💌
Oh thank you but we couldn't go to the cemetery. There's no one there to show where graves are on weekends. And they're only there until 3 during weekdays and then you have to make an appointment! My son and I agreed that he will ask for a light load one day so he can be home early enough to take me and schedule it in time for me to make an appointment. Yes we had a lovely time. I love to shop and we had fun conversation in between.

What about the aquarium shocked you speechless though. Did you see a mermaid. :D I hope it isn't that you feel the fish were not well cared for.

I am very glad to hear how that went for you, @OneEyedDiva
and I hope that you and your son will manage to get there, one day soon.

I think @Pepper had a difficult family event to attend, recently, and then, I thought she might go with her son to the Aquarium, yesterday.

I too, hope that went okay, if she went;
and that things in general, that are challenging for her, recently, and for you, and for others in our SF forum,
will become as manageable as possible.

Meanwhile, I am thinking of all of you.

@katlupe Can you call the hospital or his family to find out the problem. She probably has been told and can’t remember. You could reinforce it for her. This situation is so sad.
She brought the phone here today and he wanted her to call him because the hospital phone is expensive for him to call her. So I spoke to him. He told me how to get to the phone keypad because I could not find it. I saved the number so she could call him. He said it has to do with his kidneys. Yeah, the hospital won't give out any information over the phone. He is hoping to be back tomorrow.

Ok, have to ask.....what is a burger maker and why do you spray a burger maker.
LOL! I guess I should have been more clear! A burger maker is a small electric grill, just big enough to cook 2 hamburgers.

I spray it with PAM (or the generic equivalent) so that the meat doesn't stick to it. Unfortunately, aerisole sprays bother my breathing, so I have to do it outside. For the most part, I'm too lazy.....and it just doesn't get done more than once every 2-3 years!!!

You're so kind, Kat.. your friend must be thanking her lucky stars she has you to help her at this stressful time for her and her husband

That's great! I imagine it is a great feeling Bobcat. My son started in a club where he really shouldn't have been able to play but the father of a friend of mine managed the club and I was there every time. I see how meticulously he chooses the songs for weddings and birthdays. First he consults with the honorees or couple about what they genres they want and if they would like him to play any special songs. Then he puts together the mix of songs, sometimes having to download tracks into his program if he doesn't already have them.

He has told his live audiences live even when he was doing his weekly radio gig, that if they love what he does, they owe it to his mother because she (I) always played good music, in most genres, when he was growing up. He often tells me how much he appreciates that exposure. He also started co-writing and producing music in his early twenties when he was part of three Hip Hop groups. They all did positive rap. He interned at Quad Studios in NYC and learned to engineer. He engineered and mastered the songs on my debut album, the three singles I released in 2020 and is currently working on the songs for my next album. He puts in an incredible amount of time on each track. After work, he heads straight to our home studio because he's also working on other projects. When he's not working on music, he's watching YT videos about engineering and producing tracks. He says I'm his biggest challenge because I'm always wanting something done in my songs that he has to research. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: Here's my "Baby" at a wedding venue, with his deejay friends at theor all vinyl event (the man in the middle with the cap is their artist friend who designed their T shirts and event poster and when he was a quest deejay on The Doll House.

Truly a handsome and very talented man. It must, and it should make you very proud to have been an inspiration that led your son into a career he thoroughly enjoys. Also congrats on your songs. Way to go girl. I'm sure that makes him proud as well.

Thank you so much Kalia ❣️ You are such a sweetheart. Yes Pepper went to the aquarium. I pray that we all are able to handle what challenges come our way. I often pray for those who have lost loved ones and those are suffering with chronic pain and I include our SF members in those prayers.

What a day! I had to change Deja's litter. I decided to use Kirkland baby wipes with Lysol solution diluted (so it's still disinfectant strength) poured over them because they are larger and heavier than Lysol, Clorox and the last wipes I bought from Costco. I put them in the former disinfectant wipes container. When I went to put the baby wipes container back on the bathroom shelf, I made the mistake of also trying to carry my phone and something else at the same time. The wipes container missed the shelf and fell into the cat litter! It also knocked the Ozium to the floor. 😖 I was about to empty the litter box and wash it out. At least I was able to use some of those wipes to help finish the job.

I bought a 38 pound box of Arm & Hammer litter for the first time. It was a b*tch to get into that box! I truly had to struggle to get it open; even used a box cutter on the sides once I got the first flap open, still it was difficult. My son wasn't home to help. The litter is loose. Good thing I have an old plastic measuring cup I could use to dip the litter out. After getting that done, I sprayed the disinfectant solution on the baby wipes container. I sat the spray bottle on top of the commode which I've done several times in the past. This time, it fell to the floor.

When I was filling the ice trays, I spilled water on the floor. :cautious: These things were annoying and took extra time but in the scheme of things, I realize these occurrences are nothing compared to what other people are going through on a daily basis. I disinfected the baby wipes box with the Lysol solution and alcohol wipe, the Ozium with a different alcohol wipe and was able to get the water up with used paper towels..didn't have to pull out the mop. After doing the extra work, I'm none the worse for wear.

I also finished the tallies for my quarterly asset spreadsheets and put away the rest of the groceries from yesterday. I wound up not being able to make my 1 a.m. laundry run because by the time I was ready to do it, it poured down raining. Right when I thought, okay it stopped for almost an hour, maybe I should go now, it started pouring again. It's pouring again now and we're supposed to have a thunderstorm during the time I'd go tomorrow morning.

The last couple of days with migraine and not sleeping but about hours a day. I have at least managed to do a little bit around the house. Got some produce and milk early Sunday morning.

Last night/today, I put some country pork ribs in a marinade. I have prepped some veggies for pasta salad, think I will also do a coleslaw. I plan on making a dessert for the week. Either a cold chocolate 4 layer dish or a pineapple sheet cake with cream cheese frosting. They both would be good with the hot weather, cold or something tropical. LOL

The heat around here is out of control. I am already looking forward to the fall.
Hope you all are doing well, have a Happy 4th to all of you.

Today is another overcast day ,I like these days more than Hot sunny days ,its more comfortable to sit and also to do chores .

Im going to have a laid back day may go for a walk this evening ,
Enjoy your day everyone .

Trila, I too have a grill like that, small George Foreman one that I have had for years. I use it for doing a panini or toasting a wrap.

Bought some garlic bread the other day and going to try toasting it in that rather than turning on the oven broiler. Will see how it works out.

Going for a few groceries this morning, will have to dodge raindrops again. Worried for the farmers, first we had drought for almost a month now rain, rain, rain. Friend went for a drive and said the fields were battered down. I know I was out yesterday in the rain trying to bolster up my sugar snap peas.

Check out online dear @Trila as it's my problem as well. You'll find plenty of non-aerosol oil sprays in store or to buy online. Here's a BING link. Hope that helps

I have something very similar - a panini press. Haven't used it for anything else, but love it for paninis.

Instead of cooking sprays I put a little vegetable oil on some paper towel or waxed paper and rub it on the cold press.

Already did my morning walk with my friend. Will be doing my errands that I do every month. Taking care of my son's money, rent and other bills. Getting my own money order and grocery shopping. Will be doing that around noon or after depending on my bf and how soon he gets going today.

Heading to the produce store shortly after it opens this AM.

After that DH & I will handle a few business chores: unpacking boxes, then counting, sorting and labeling the shirts so they get the correct embroidery. Not difficult, but we want to do it in the garage rather than dragging everything in the (cooler) house. That means finishing up by 11 AM before the day's heat kicks in.

No other plans. Will reach out to DD and DS families to see if either/both want to get together today.

Today, I am trying to figure out possible actions that I could take, to address each of numerous pending issues.

I am just at the stage of listing possibly doable options, on each thing. For myself to then pick ones to try to find more info, to guide any possible decisions and actions.
Gosh, sometimes it is exhausting, long before any actions are actually taken. Humorous, and also seriously difficult.
