Holy moly. Would you believe that I didn't get up until 8? That's probably because I was glued to the weather channel for so long.
I hope all our Florida members are ok and post today.

It's gonna be a busy morning. Laundry. Cook the rest of the greens for DSIL. And stuff.

ETA: Oooo! Remember my Ladies Loungewear? Well. Since it's laundry day, I'll have Ladies Loungewear for tonight, and the temp is supposed to be in the mid-40s. Woohoo. BTW, was it you, @hearlady who looked in your Aldi store last week? I checked the Aldi Finds on their website, and it's showing only the short ones:(

I spent most of the day just chilling. I did walk to the check cashing place to buy a sheet of 10 senior Jitney tickets for $7.50.
Without them 10 rides on a Jitney would cost $30. I love that the Jitney Association was kind enough to keep senior prices the same after they raised their price  by.50 cents.

As I walked back I heard a bird making the cutest sound that I'd never heard before. I don't know what kind of bird it was though. I sat on the boardwalk for a little while and walked back to the hotel when it started getting chilly. Due to the wind forecast I started not to go out. But It was not as windy as I expected and it was a beautiful day, so I'm glad I did. I took the first two pictures before coming in.
I took the red and white boat (using a magnified setting) from the balcony.
When we drive down to Banff, at a place called Longmanhill, the road overlooks the sea. This is where ships tend to anchor before going into port. Sometimes there are 3 or 4 ships, but sometimes none. We have a silly guessing game of 'Boat or no Boat' as we approach the viewing point.

Juniper (tabby) was at the emergency vet yesterday. She was sick with throwing up and diarrhea. Abdominal x-ray was OK for acute findings. Some mild inflammation. Kidneys on the small side of normal. She is senior now at 13 1/2 years. Waiting for a call on blood work: CBC, chem and thyroid.

They gave her subcutaneous fluids and nausea shot. She has nausea pills to start this evening. She seems better and ate canned food this morning.

I hope it's not serious. Glad she feels better today. 🌹 🤞

@Remy I hope your kitty gets better/feels better soon🐈

@Sliverfox What time should I be there?😋

Laundry is done, and the new Ladies Loungewear (with pockets!) is just waiting until bedtime☺️🛌

DD took me to Dollar Tree, and I got a new broom🧹. It's black, and it's just in time for Hallowe'en🧙‍♀️:ROFLMAO:.

Tomorrow is gonna be a big day. Aldi. And the Aisle of Shame;). Maybe Kohl's to spend my freebie $15 Kohl's cash, maybe to the garden center, too.

Doesn't take a lot to please me.

Sounds like a nice trip and a fun game. Those red boats really get your attention, huh.

Thank you for explaining this. My husband wakes up achy unless he arranges about 6 throw pillows in various spots under his body, so I kind of get where you're coming from. Not all bodies do well after lying flat for several hours. Glad you found what works for yours.
You're welcome and thank you. It's too bad your husband couldn't experience the pillows at our resort!
They are wonderful... marshmallow soft and squishy.

I was never one to lay on my back nor stomach. I've always laid in the fetal position on either side.

Left: I love flowers although in autumn we don't have as many as in springtime.
Right: My dentist wanted to do a root canal on my visit this morning, but I am not convinced. I rather pay out-of-pocket a "special introductory" offer for "new patients" with another dentist for a second opinion (about $80) before agreeing to it. The root canal itself is covered 80% by Delta Dental Insurance (deltadentalins.com)

Getting closer to 90, I am wondering how much longer I will be able to go hiking with my pups. The downs and ups are getting increasingly more difficult, mostly due to partially torn muscles and tendons in my left hip. In the evenings, I am already just walking around the block. My pups love it, and I need it to keep me going. Walking does not include my arms. So when I get home, I am using my six-piece mini gym to keep my arms in shape. BTW, once the winter rains start around Thanksgiving, the brown and yellow behind me will quickly turn to lush green till next May, or so.

For the last 55 years, my healthcare provider has been Kaiser Permanente (kp.org) mostly at the Riverside Medical Center:
https://healthy.kaiserpermanente.org/southern-california/facilities/riverside-medical-center-100062
After I retired from work at a college, I stayed with Kaiser being covered by my wife's employer; while exploring with Medicare a few other healthcare facilities. OK, Kaiser is not perfect, but it's better than the other places I explored. Easy to change doctors, almost always I can obtain a doctor appointment for the same day (although not with my own PCP,) no paperwork, easy communication with my PCP by email. able to obtain a free second opinion with a different physician, etc. Most of my dozen-plus surgeries I had here, although my prostate Da Vinci one was in Los Angeles.

The main building as seen from the 6 level parking garage with plenty of free EV charging stations; and on the right side is a row of free exercise equipment. Kaiser is an almost complete healthcare provider, all under one roof. On my today's visit, I attended a Medicare seminar because my wife is contemplating to retire from teaching at age 70. When she does, then we will have to switch from private insurance coverage to the government Medicare insurance.

It was....can I say it?.....chilly today! At least in the morning and late afternoon. I'm not complaining. I wore a jacket on my walk. First time this year. My plants are liking it and have perked right up.

I pulled put all my blankets, quilts, afghans, and sorted them. I put the ones not used in the large chest on the bottom, the heavy ones that will be used on the top. The everyday ones (favorite, lighter) in the family room chest and the odd lap blankets in an ottoman back in the spare bedroom.
Ok I'm ready for cold nights.

I can't actually wear a heavy duvet or blanket in bed. I have to have lightweight ones, and sometimes that means putting 3 on the bed, but I get hot in the night, so I have to be able to throw one off or even 2 until I'm comfortable...

Today was surgery day. Up at 5AM, checked in at 6:30. Was escorted to surgery prep, gowned, tested, wired up and had my face to face with the doctor. Had an ekg and nurse was getting ready to put in an IV. Another nurse poked her face in and called the IV nurse out of the room she returned and said my doc wanted to talk with me.

Everything stopped and there was a lot of whispering outside the room. Very uncomfortable doc came in and told me that he and the gas passer doc had realized they had both forgotten to schedule me for a heart scan earlier in the week so they weren't going to operate today. It was obviously killing my doc to admit he had made a mistake.

Have to reschedule and go through all this at some future time TBD.
