Election Day at last in America…

Future elections won't feature the orange fellow, and they won't have a candidate on the other side who didn't go through the primary process.
I think what you typed, and I high lighted in Bold, is at the heart of the matter and the key to the results. Remember the Democratic Primary debates? None of us do because there weren’t any.

Had the Dems had a real primary season with the President debating other contenders, the results might have been different. This is just my opinion, of course.

I see Trump's win as an indictment of the mainstream media. Elon Musk didn't have to jump up on stage at Trump rallies or have raffles awarding people for registering to vote. All he had to do (and he did) was allow X to show longer clips of footage where the mainstream media took parts of out of context and reported it as truth over and over and over again. The mainstream bias predated Trump, but their hatred of him beamed a glaring light that reflected back to reveal their bias.

I didn't vote for Trump, but am so thankful that this win exposes the utter failure of the mainstream media. Bezos saw the writing on the wall after the Gallup poll a couple of weeks ago showing America's trust in the media at an all time low.

Am hopeful that this will lead to a correction and more balanced reporting. I'd love not to have to dig through multiple sources and trace original content to find unbiased news.

If you watched, the Pacific States were just handed over immediately upon poll closing before any counting had been done. Not that it's improper. It just shows that everyone knows they are bought and paid for.
Not sure what you think you know, but your words are deeply offensive and patently untrue. How dare you suggest such a thing?

@StarSong is correct @dilettante. I live in a deep red Southern state that was called minutes after our polls closed. It's not paid for votes, but voting history and exit polls. No way was Trump going to flip Cali, Oregon or Washington and I think you know that.

And that's what "bought and paid for" means. Owned, taken for granted. Uncontested.

It applies to both red and blue states. It means their results can be determined without counting a single vote due to the extreme dominance of one party or the other.

Actually, that's not what "bought and paid for" means. I means, literally: Bought and Paid For.

Don't try to wriggle out of your offensive words by pretending that expression means anything other than what it literally says.

Maybe something like "foregone conclusion" would've worked better than a phrase that has both a figurative and a literal meaning.

There is a much more solid Blue Wall on the West Coast.
The political orientation of California tends to be misunderstood by Eastern outsiders due to media dominance by the populous coastal counties. However it usually shows a larger area of red than blue due to more conservative larger inland counties. Unfortunately the state entered the union at too large a practical size much like Texas. Efforts to split the state have always been opposed by politicians in the more populous south coastal counties and national political entities.

With only 60% of votes yet tabulated, that clearly shows again in this 11am EST map.

I voted early. I, too, am feeling a lot of anxiety about this election. I’ve already decided I’m going to have to avoid the news and social media for a day or two. And certain relatives.
ESPECIALLY CERTAIN RELATIVES..... I have some extremists in my family.
