Same here.I take Mag Glycinate every day as part of my Vitamin supplement routine...
You're right about cortisone injections working until they don't work anymore. My back is also worse since I maxed out on them. When it came to carpel tunnel, I had one injection in each hand to put off surgery due some things going on with my husband's family. The shots started to wear off in about 9 months or so & I opted to have the surgery.Eventually I had to have Cortisone injections in my back... that was the only thing that worked !
Now I've had the maximum injections they will give because eventually they don't work.. and the result is that it makes the injured site worse...
How di the Carpel surgery go, Lilac?... If and when I recover from these injuries, Carpel tunnel surgery is on the list...You're right about cortisone injections working until they don't work anymore. Wet heat works the best as far as my experience. Messy, though.well there are beaches very close to me ..within an hour ... but for the moment..I'll stick with heatpads.... but I'm pleased it all worked for you on the beach, Sunny...![]()
Small steps, babe. Remember...small steps. Don't overdo it.I actually feel quite poorly today... due completely to being out yesterday... even tho' we simply went to the car showroom and back again.. it's all taken it's toll, and everything is so sore.. painful night's sleep...![]()
this is my major problem Jujube.. I do try always in life to run before I can walk..Small steps, babe. Remember...small steps. Don't overdo it.
Doll stay with the great plan, call Merry Maid and watch em work the house over. Take it in stages, enjoy the time with them.this is my major problem Jujube.. I do try always in life to run before I can walk.... and like you say too @Teacher Terry ..it's highly frustrating for me......I'm usually such a fast healer.. and this is very slow to me.. it's been 3 weeks, but the nurses keep telling me.. that's a very short time for all these injuries to recover.....
My daughter keeps telling me to stop trying to do things.. but it's hard for me.... but it's even harder, when I do try.. and the pain won't allow it.
I know it's trite, and people keep dismissing it as nothing to be concerned about... but it really bothers me that I can't clean the house. It takes me a long time to just wash up some cups and cutlery... for now I;m using paper plates ..but washing up the pots , slowly and gingerly, with all sorts of protections over my bandages and wounds.. .. but not being able Vac..or wash the floors, or clean the bathrooms, is really getting me down..., unable to bend at all as well due to the horrendous back spasms..
I had a message from my gardener yesterday asking if I was ok..he didn't know about the accident .. and did I want him to come and mow the lawns..
I replied, I'd been in an accident and was not able to do much currently .. but if he wanted to come on friday, he could....
He never replied...so I have no idea if he'll come or not....
Can you hire someone to clean once or twice? It might not cost too much and would probably make you happy, thus helping your recovery.this is my major problem Jujube.. yes I could, and I have been mulling it over. I don't particualrly want any of the so called '' irina, or Maria's '' who have been spamming the neighborhood app looking to clean houses....to come and clean my house... so the district nurse told me about a company... but I nearly fell off my chair at their prices.. ...so I'm still thinking about it...Can you hire someone to clean once or twice? No the answer is NO to both tbh... certainly not the hospital. In fact one of the ditrict nurses who comes to the house was horrified that I had no-one.. her exact words were.. '' they've let you go home, with no-one here.. and no-one to help.. and if you died, and laid here for days.. they'd say ''lessons have been learned''....Probably a silly question, but is there any household help available that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, just temporarily and for minimal tasks?
Does the hospital you were taken to provide any social services? Sounds like something that social worker might be able to help with.
Hmmm..I dunno I think it might just be too stressful for me at the moment... ..altho' I would like someone to clean the bathrooms and kitchen... I have to do some more research on availability of trusted peopleWhen I had cleaners and a big house, I didn’t have them do every room. So maybe have them do the downstairs and then upstairs just your bedroom and bathroom. That will save you some money. If you have any rooms downstairs that aren’t used very much you could have them skip those two.
