A beanch ready to offer a rest.Today we did another 4 kilometres on our usual walk. I put cleats on my boots since the snow is so icy. It rained the other day and then the temperature dropped.
We saw the extra benches the township put up for the gathering the other day.

We’ve never actually sat on one but they do look comfortable. There used to only be one there. Now there’s four. They put them up the last time we were there. We saw all the materials they had to make them. They had 200 people going for a s’mores treat. They apparently built 2 fire pits. We were asked to participate but declined. Far too many people for us.A beanch ready to offer a rest.
Do you know why the tree has a red tag on it?Today was a cool partially sunny, partially cloudy and - 8 day degrees Celsius. We walked our regular 4 kilometre trail. On the way there I took a photo of a lovely house surrounded by the ocean. It doesn’t look it, but it’s a huge house.

What’s great about this pathway is that it’s popular so well packed down. Yesterday we walked a different path that was really hard to walk on. Since it’s not walked as much as the others there’s more places where you sink into the snow. These paths have been well walked on so these no surprise sinking.

Hi Dennis,Do you know why the tree has a red tag on it?
Really beautiful, where you live.Today was a beach walk. It was -4 and partially sunny. It snowed last night so there’s a fresh snowfall to walk on.

The waves are so strong and the roots of trees so shallow that they rip the tress out of the ground.
Luckily someone came by with a saw and cut down a few trees( earlier ) which allowed us to continue our beach walk otherwise we would have had to turn around. View attachment 408681View attachment 408680View attachment 408682

Have a nice day.
Today it’s 5 degrees and going up to 7. It was overcast when we started out but then the sun came out and it was beautiful.
Jeix! P!ease be more careful. All it takes is a wrong twist not even a fall.Today was 5 degrees when we went for a walk. It just finished raining. We went to our favourite spot thinking most of the snow would be melted and unfortunately it wasn’t.
All the compacted snow had turned to wet ice and I had taken my cleats off so we cut our walk short. I almost wiped out 5 times.

On the way back we spotted those two eagles again. By the time I got out of the car, one of the eagles had flown away. I got a distant photo of one of them.

Boilng down the maple sap.

We have 20 taps in approximately 15 trees.
It takes 5 gallons of sap to make 1/2 a litre of syrup.
Thanks for your concern . I’ve taken my cleats off my shoes and walking on ground that doesn’t have any snow or ice on it.Jeix! P!ease be more careful. All it takes is a wrong twist not even a fall.

Ya know I didn’t even know there was WILD ~ deer in Australia till recently ….dah …I heard on the news they are going to be culling the numbers in QLD.On the way back we ran into a group of deer wanting to cross the road. They crossed one by one then regrouped at the house across the street. View attachment 409228View attachment 409227

There are very few days that we don’t see deer.
