Do you believe in heaven?

If you do, and even if you don't, if you could imagine such a place, what mental image do you have? In other words, what would you like it to be?

Well, I don't know. I don't see much support for believing. But I suppose I'd want it to be a warm, friendly place. I wouldn't want a large property, just small cabin on the outer edge of town with a good stand of woods behind it, maybes a running stream and a good pair of binoculars.

My brain doesn't shut off when I go to sleep. Remember the line from Hamlet? "To sleep... perchance to dream."

Hmmm. I believe in reincarnation, so I'll be back! While I am waiting, I would like to live by a river in a cute Victorian cottage, surrounded by my animals, and lots of gardens. Oh, and Philly, and other loved ones who have died.

Its a beautiful place of pure ecstasy, filled with singing, beauty, and lighted by the light of God, with no night, death, or sorrow. All suffering is over. We will serve God, because we now only see through a glass dimly, but then we'll see Him face to face.

Not only that, but we have an escort by angels to that beautiful place when we leave this earthy abode. This is verified in Luke's gospel when the poor man died: The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s side. ... (Luke 16:22)

"WHAT NO EYE HAS SEEN, NOR EAR HEARD, NOR THE HEART OF MAN CONCEIVED, WHAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM."(I Cor. 2:9)

"And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever." - Rev 22:1-5

It's usually depicted as being up in the clouds with female angels (never men) clothed in white robes
and playing small harps.

I've been up in those clouds many times and I've NEVER seen any of those things.

Now, I don't know WHAT to think.

Heaven is being where you want to be with whom you want to be with, doing what you want to do. And it would never end or get stale.

I believe in Heaven. However, my imagination runs a little wild on this subject. Our spirit is much more than we imagine. We come down here as part of a contract with God. Read Robert Frost "Trial By Existence" This is one way to say that we have a purpose here other than our job. I have never found a clearer purpose than gaining a spiritual education which I may pass along to others. Caroline Myss has writen some interesting stuff in books like "Sacred Contracts". I do not believe in hell and I do not believe that God tests us. I believe we all go to heaven. I believe that Heaven is like the hear and now except "more", "much more". God hears our prayers.

I don't know if I believe in heaven or hell as taught in my younger years in Catholic school, but I imagine if there was a heaven for me, it would be very comfortable, quiet, relaxed, maybe floating on clouds and no music or people involvement at all.
