Really great to hear that you are doing better Holly.
Again, so good to see you back, @hollydolly! I wish I were there; I'd be happy to give you a hand with whatever you need.Hello everyone , thankyou for all the uplifting wonderful caring messages you've given to me over the last 9 days since my accident... it has kept me so much more in a positive frame of mind, and always knew i had excellent taste in friends..
it's very difficult for me to type here on the forum. the right hand is out of action, plastic surgeons worke to save it on the night following the accident...nd my left arm and hand are severely bruised. my body all down the right side is every colour except skin colour, i have 27 if i recall properly... stitches in my hand....
I have 3 fractured ribs on the right.....so i'm having to type this with just one finger on my left hand... to say thank you everyone, you're all my forever friends....but most of all i couln't not aattempt to write to Mark and Lisa, and lilttle pooch, how much i know the shock you must be feeling today, even if you have no physical injuries..((HUGS)).. I'm sorry for the loss of your vehicle ..i hoe it's all easily remedied by the other person's insurance...
Good to have you back and I will continue to pray about your healing.....![]()
...even tho' I will have to post less than normal...I'm back as best as I can be... for now....
I want to thank you all for your wonderful support , messages, flowers...dogs ( thanks Pinks)..and especially those who posted regular almost daily messages encouraging my recovery... I can't thank you enough...it's kept me going when I was in danger of sinking into a depression, something i've never allowed into my life despite all the adversities... but coming only 6 weeks after a horrendous 4 years of court fighting a divorce petition... at 70 I think my body just was asking me how much it was expected to take without breaking down... and taking a rest from the world..so thank you all.. and more especially thankyou to @Sunny and @StarSong for checking on me regularly by email.. and worrying about me when I was too poorly to reply...
I saw the Plastic surgeon today... the good news is that they've removed the cast from my top knuckles to my fingertips, which means I can at last use the fingers of my right hand...you have no idea what a freedom that is... the hand however is still out of action.. i could post you a gory photo from today, but I'm sure you don't want to see it.. anyway.. it's still in a bad way.. and puffed up like a pigs bladder... and I have to keep it in a sling across my body up to my opposite shoulder to try and get the swelling to go down..
The ribs are stil sore, hard to sleep or get in any position that's not painful, and my shoulders to my thighs on the right side are still black and blue, but fading each day with the help of topical and internal Arnica Gel...... but... I'm going on upwards and onwards.. .. and the fact that I can write this back on the forum now.. is a HUGE step...
DD rang soon after I'd got home from the hospital and she said quote'' mum, you sound so much more like your old self, instead of an old lady that you've sounded like since the accident''.. lol.. so I'll take that as a sign I'm on my way back to normality whatever that might be..
Clearly the hand still hurts, so I'lll be able to post but it'll be less than my usual.. (sigh of relief from some at the back at the room.)..because I have to have the hand in the sling most of the time to get the swelling down... ..
However.. for all intents and purposes... Holly is back... Yeaaaah!!!![]()
So nice to see your return to our little SF world, you've been missed!Thankyou, folks iit's great to be back
People have been so kind on and off the internet. Just yesterday for example... on hearing my story the consultant, and then the taxi driver on the way back from the hospital.. gave me information that would help me with my Insurance claim... it's amazing what people know and are willing to share...I was very touched.

Sunny.. 3 people heard the driver say she was in the wrong lane...they gave their names and addresses to the police.. and one lady gave the names written on a tissue paper.. obviously all she had in the car... to a Paramedic to put into my bag..To get into legal mode for a moment, if the other driver is still trying to deny responsibility, remember that immediately after the accident, she said to a witness that she was sorry she was in the wrong lane. I hope you or the police have that witness's name.
That brilliant idea of denial probably came from the insurance company's lawyers.
those shows are on constant repeat on our TV network..even tho' some are over 50 years old.... ..I can't laugh too much sadly.. because when I do my back goes into spasm... but thanks for the kind thought...It's great that you are back Holly! Reader's Digest used to say that Laughter is the Best Medicine. Sometimes laughter will make you feel a lot better. How about watching some old reruns of Last of the Summer Wine, The Vicar of Dibley, or maybe, Keeping Up Appearances, if that doesn't make you laugh, nothing will.![]()
Laughing is painful with broke ribs. I feel off a roof once and busted ribs and smiling was the best I could do for a month. Glad you're back.those shows are on constant repeat on our TV network..even tho' some are over 50 years old.... ..I can't laugh too much sadly.. because when I do my back goes into spasm... but thanks for the kind thought...![]()
