I really must get around to updating mine.

Whilst we were out and about yesterday my wife came across a 1930's "jumpsuit" pattern. Years ago we learned that my late mother-in-law wore such a garment whilst working in an armament factory when she was a young woman during WW2. Back then the ladies managed to turn such a utility overall into something quite fashionable. Unfortunately the material that she wanted proved elusive. There's a fabric shop closer to home that she's going to give a try.

Today the lady has an optician's appointment late morning. Then she is going to get her nails "done." I have to admit, her nails really do look fabulous. My day, after my house husbandly duties, will be to go to work. They haven't outlined what it is yet, but I might just be driving one of their trucks. Only to and from the works garage, but the schoolboy in me means it will be fun.

Been up three hours now, so guess I'm up for the day. Do I have a lot to do today? Only have to go out to the mailbox, half a block up, to mail two credit card bills. Otherwise, expecting a delivery between ten am & one pm.

I'll be okay, as long as this doesn't become a habit. Oh so tired! Oh, stop complaining!

LOL..people might think you're serious about not having an up-to-date licence.. but of course it is the law to have a car or paper licence... I remember those old licences, I was too young to have one tho'...

In the summer I visted the motor museum at Enfield.. and there they had vintage pre-owned Driving licences...

you might be interested in these vintage car badges also.. as you can see the MG is among them...

..and on the subect of Mrs HC and her sewing... at the transport museum, don't ask me why they have a small collection also, of vintage sewing machines..

An hour ago, I called my doctors surgery ( office).. to get an appt.. Given that face to face appt's might have a very long wait.. I said it will be fine to receive a telephone appt , and she said ok.. next available date is the 17th of March...

I said ok, well what about a face to face appt, she said...same date..that's the first available appointment for anything...
Now this is with me seeing a generic doctor.. if I'd asked for a specific doctor it would have been an even longer wait..

I'm going to pay to see a Private doctor instead .. 20 minutes for £130....

SEVENTEEN? 17F? OMG where am I? The sun is out, and it'll warm up over the next five days to the 70s, where we should be this time of year. But right now it's 17F.

My exciting day includes a trip to UPS to send a package to DS. UPS store is two miles from home so I get to admire the scenery on the way. Then we're going to McD's to say goodbye to our favorite lady.

Don't y'all be hating just because I get to do such fun stuff.

@Mizmo...all the scones are gone. Maybe next time.

Woke up to 6°F/-14.4°C. Expecting a sunny 31°F/-1°C this afternoon. Things will start to melt. Our real warm up starts on Sunday....I can hardly wait!!

My spring bulbs were already up, before the bad weather outbreak. I'm sure that the plants didn't survive the extreme cold, night after night. Hopefully, the bulbs themselves are ok. I'm not expecting a lot of flowers this year, just hoping that they live through it and bloom next year.

@Georgiagranny WHAT?!!!! You didn't save me a scone?!!! I'm hurt! 😕

Up since 1:30 am but feeling regular now, seven hours later. I'm a bit shaky, so will have to take care. Wonder what time I should go to bed tonight? We'll see later on. So far, so good. Will perk up soon with a frozen onion bagel.

The worst thing, it is so cold and windy! It is 27F, sunny, but the wind is ......... windy. I was cold all night, even in the warmest room.

You said you'd be housebound for a week, right? By then they'd be way too stale to eat anyway. Maybe next time for you, too.

Our Calla Lillies [thanks Cs] in the garden start blooming --> spring has arrived --> at least in our place

Under our carport I see birds constantly flying in and out.....We have 2.5 acres for my 3 pups to roam around

Termites have killed the center tree .....Palm tree babies are a pest; some years I have to kill a hundred of them

I have a huge fake Calla Lilly hiding the dog food area and everyone who comes to the house says how beautiful it is. I used to tell them it was fake, but they would seem embarrassed so now I just let it go. Five dollars at a yard sale and no watering. I love it!

We have driving a driving licence which is issued to us when we pass our test whatever age, and that stays with us until we're 70.. and then we have to have a renewed licence whch only has a lifespan of 3 years before it has to be renewed again.. and again ..and again every 3 years.. seems crazy to me.
@hollydolly, in the US, requirements for driver's licenses are established by the individual states. I've lived in a number of states and never had a license that was good for more than five years. I believe the primary reasons for the mandatory renewals are to update the photo, test vision, and confirm/establish your current address. Our driver's licenses are a primary for of identification and used for many other purposes beyond just driving. :)
