sad, but true unfortunately...You're not a fool @hollydolly but he is the bastard.
I got my new driving licence in the post this morning.. this for when I turn 70 .. and these now only last 3 years before we have to renew...
Because they're the ones having the best time? Why is it in media, the evil are always laughing?
Exactly!Because they're the ones having the best time?
LOL..people might think you're serious about not having an up-to-date licence.. but of course it is the law to have a car or paper licence... I remember those old licences, I was too young to have one tho'...View attachment 405252
I really must get around to updating mine.

Whilst we were out and about yesterday my wife came across a 1930's "jumpsuit" pattern. Years ago we learned that my late mother-in-law wore such a garment whilst working in an armament factory when she was a young woman during WW2. Back then the ladies managed to turn such a utility overall into something quite fashionable. Unfortunately the material that she wanted proved elusive. There's a fabric shop closer to home that she's going to give a try.
Today the lady has an optician's appointment late morning. Then she is going to get her nails "done." I have to admit, her nails really do look fabulous. My day, after my house husbandly duties, will be to go to work. They haven't outlined what it is yet, but I might just be driving one of their trucks. Only to and from the works garage, but the schoolboy in me means it will be fun.
back to the original system heh - the old one - pre war???An hour ago, I called my doctors surgery ( office).. to get an appt.. Given that face to face appt's might have a very long wait.. I said it will be fine to receive a telephone appt , and she said ok.. next available date is the 17th of March...
I said ok, well what about a face to face appt, she said...same date..that's the first available appointment for anything...
Now this is with me seeing a generic doctor.. if I'd asked for a specific doctor it would have been an even longer wait..
I'm going to pay to see a Private doctor instead .. 20 minutes for £130....
I dunno, I wasn't around pre war...lolback to the original system heh - the old one - pre war???
neither was I but I read a lot about it?I dunno, I wasn't around pre war...lol
It's not always a matter of "hiding" it. Sometimes, through manipulation, they can cover for the red flags, and nurture your "denial"......it's incredible isn't it, Pinks..?...3 decades he hid his real self... I keep thinking how was I so easily fooled when normally I can pick up on people very easily...
You said you'd be housebound for a week, right? By then they'd be way too stale to eat anyway. Maybe next time for you, too.Woke up to 6°F/-14.4°C. Expecting a sunny 31°F/-1°C this afternoon. Things will start to melt. Our real warm up starts on Sunday....I can hardly wait!!
My spring bulbs were already up, before the bad weather outbreak. I'm sure that the plants didn't survive the extreme cold, night after night. Hopefully, the bulbs themselves are ok. I'm not expecting a lot of flowers this year, just hoping that they live through it and bloom next year.
@Georgiagranny WHAT?!!!! You didn't save me a scone?!!! I'm hurt!![]()
Boo-hoo!!!!!You said you'd be housebound for a week, right? By then they'd be way too stale to eat anyway. Maybe next time for you, too.
I have a huge fake Calla Lilly hiding the dog food area and everyone who comes to the house says how beautiful it is. I used to tell them it was fake, but they would seem embarrassed so now I just let it go. Five dollars at a yard sale and no watering. I love it!Our Calla Lillies [thanks Cs] in the garden start blooming --> spring has arrived --> at least in our place

Pension increase, state or private ?Been out for breakfast,ASDA are delivering later and I’ve received my Pension Increase letter.
State…and it isn’t far off what our dear leader claimed it would be.Pension increase, state or private ?
@hollydolly, in the US, requirements for driver's licenses are established by the individual states. I've lived in a number of states and never had a license that was good for more than five years. I believe the primary reasons for the mandatory renewals are to update the photo, test vision, and confirm/establish your current address. Our driver's licenses are a primary for of identification and used for many other purposes beyond just driving. We have driving a driving licence which is issued to us when we pass our test whatever age, and that stays with us until we're 70.. and then we have to have a renewed licence whch only has a lifespan of 3 years before it has to be renewed again.. and again ..and again every 3 years.. seems crazy to me.
