@hawkdon I'm glad your dropsy doesn't extend to eggs. Drop a dozen and you're gonna miss your rent payment;)

DD had to go to the bank. It's right next door to the garden center. Of course, I had to go along to keep her company. And then, since we were already in the neighborhood, we stopped in at the garden center.

I wanted to get another orange Wallflower. Orange flowers that I actually like are hard to find so I really needed one more.

All the bedding plants that I bought on Saturday, including today's Wallflower, have been planted. Yay me. And the reseeded lawn is coming along nicely. Maybe another month before it needs to be mowed.

No monkey grass got moved because...tired. Tomorrow is another (warm) day. I'll move some tomorrow.

Now I'm gonna rest. Maybe even take a nap.

When I've been in the U.S. , I've generally been pleased to have found micro-breweries that produced good full flavoured beers. While I miss a good well hopped real ale, I also recon that Belgian Trappist beers are hard to beat. When I was last in Dinant, Belgium (incidentally, the birth place of Adolphe Sax, inventor of the Saxophone ), I visited the Leffe brewery visitors centre and sampled some great tasting beers. Curiously, to buy in the shops there, they were much dearer than in the UK.
You find more and more micro breweries with a regular clientel. Not inexpensive though.
Our favorite hangout in DC turned into a tourist attraction:>( When we had to move unexpectedly and had no time to arrange for a going away party I dropped a credit card and $300 with the head bartender and said 12:00-24:00 our folks are on us. The house paid the bill and gave me a bartender apron I still use.

Virginia Native is a dark Weizen to die for.

@Capt Lightning and @hollydolly, thanks for the info re your pubs. I know it’s tv & the movies, but they’re always portrayed as being fun that somehow I thought drinks would be very inexpensive based on the buying of rounds.
Actually today with the huge increase in beer prices..alcohol generally, barely anyone buys rounds any more... a friend on a friend maybe but not rounds like we all did back in the day....

To start this day we have to go back to 12:30am when my 8 hr fast begins. Just water...I am having a blood test at 8:30am. That would all be fine except the trigeminal neuralgia has spread to my mouth and now I am having "Burning Mouth Syndrome"!. And it burns ...my mouth feels like I have had very hot peppers in it. ( I wonder if ice water helps ). That and my leg pain is about 1 /2 notches higher ( Pain level ). I have an epidural in my neck spine mar, 12th. I asked my pain Dr. for some kind of pain med to get me through. We'll see.

My younger brother in California is coming out here in a few months. We haven't seen each other for over 30 years!! :)

Is that anything like Thrush? I had thrush when I had cancer the first time. My tongue was Very Red and the burning was so bad I couldn't think straight.

Maybe try meds for thrush, even look in baby aisle? Hate to hear you are suffering with this.

I don't know if it will help but I have been treated for TN, since it started many years ago..so I absolutely know your pain....

It's in my left jaw and is controlled by Tegretol...( Carbamezapine).... recently I've started to suffer symptoms in my left temple.. like lightening bolts to the head so severe and so sudden that they almost knock me off my chair.. and got increasingly worse very fast...this from a person who rarely ever has any kind of headache...

As it's difficult to get to see a Doctor here.. I just added an extra tegretol to my usual daily dosage and that seems to have calmed it down...

if you haven't already been prescribed Carbamezpine, you may want to suggest it ..

If you like flowers, then come to California.
The 3 large pictures have been copied from the TV and the Internet. We have visited all these places.

The Carlsbad flower fields just opened for viewing. For a better picture see: The Flower Fields | Carlsbad, CA
They are located between Los Angeles and San Diego near the ocean.

The Lompoc flower fields are perhaps 2 driving hours west of Los Angeles LOMPOC FLOWER FIELDS - Califoria
Located between Lompoc and Ocean Beach Park, and adjascent to Vandenberg Air Force Base

The Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve State Natural Reserve is maybe
1 1/2 driving hours north of L.A.

And two pix from our small town that I took this morning

And then there are the supposedly 10,000 rose bushes in Los Angeles EXPO CENTER - EXPOSITION PARK ROSE GARDENCity of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks as well as the 35,000 tulips at the Descanso Gardens near Los Angeles https://secretlosangeles.com/tulips-bloom-descanso-gardens and https://www.descansogardens.org/gardens-and-collections/whats-in-bloom

The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens https://huntington.org are not only noticeable for having a complete set of the Gutenberg Bible, but their Chinese and Japanese gardens are definitely worth seeing. The Getty Museum https://www.getty.edu/museum is more than an art museum. It also has beautiful garden arrangements.

Finally, there are a number of botanic gardens with flower displays. For example, the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden https://arboretum.org and the South Coast Botanic Garden https://southcoastbotanicgarden.org as well as the one of the University of California at Riverside https://gardens.ucr.edu Even the Rose Hills Memorial Park https://www.rosehills.com/discover-rose-hills is worth visiting for its flowers.

Family dinner went well. My son and DIL couldn't make it but my oldest daughter and youngest daughter and family came. Of course burgers are considered a five star meal to the children and we all enjoyed them just as much.
My daughter texted when she was leaving and joked that everyone was mad because they were coming straight from church in church clothes. My cue was to run down to the Walmart and pick up some suitable comfy clothes.
The youngest girl, seven, came in first looking very disturbed. I asked, "What's wrong?" Her, "We had to stay in church clothes" She had a pretty dressy dress on.
I told her and her sister to go look in my room. Well I made a good decision. They were very grateful and surprisingly I picked out the right things.
I let my daughter borrow a t shirt and comfy pants.
I don't buy them clothes much anymore because who knows what is "in" week to week. Anyway, it was nice that they appreciated it.
We are resting now. Back to the old folk quiet life. 😊
How thoughtful. I hope you were able to wash their new outfits before they wore them. Sounds like you had a wonderful time. 😀

Good morning from another glorious sunny place... 🌹 🌻 It's still only 0 deg .. and we have ice and frost all over the cars still at almost 8.30am, but the sun will melt those off before long...

The Handyman will be here very soon, and he's finally going to have the weather to repair the barn roof.. and my gate....

The delivery of the drawers that I bought from the artisan charity shop will be sometime this morning as well...

Thinking of our friend @Pappy this morning in hospital, and hope you've had a restful night.. 🤗

10am now, the ice has melted on the cars but not yet on the lawns...

The Handyman is up on the barn roof, working very fast on the repair...I'm impressed how fast he's doing it...

I have 3 seperate jobs which need doing.. including the barn roof.. he said he could do them all in one day, and I was doubtful, but now watching how fast he's working, I'm thinking he probably will...

Woke up this morning, as the best blues songs go, and I had an aching knee. I don't know what caused it, but I assume that I strained something while working in the garden yesterday. It seems to be a bit better now and we were able to do a bit of shopping at Lidl. We only wanted some vegetables, but came out with a load of other stuff - and a big bill.

Not such a good day. It's a bit overcast and breezy, but at least it's dry. I could do with finishing the garden jobs, but I don't want to risk hurting my knee again. I do however need to pick some leeks to make a leek pie for dinner.

@hawkdon I'm hungry. How about biscuits and sausage gravy for breakfast?

The sun came up while I was sitting on the patio with my coffee...red sky. Wut wo! The storms aren't supposed to start until late this evening and be gone by wake up time tomorrow. They're even saying there's a possibility of tornadoes.
'Tis the season.

I'm gonna try to move a little more of the monkey grass this morning and try real hard to stay away from the garden centers. I wished out loud yesterday that I'd bought more creeping phlox and DD very helpfully reminded me that "they have more." Nothing like encouraging me to spend money...

Thinking good thoughts for @Pappy.

Well GG guess what, I forgot to order biscuits from grocery yesterday!!!! mite make some gravy anyway... morning all folks...
slept well, and streets are damp, showing rain should start soon, we need it, cause we're in fire warning season here, too

On my early walk at 7 temp was 37,no boots as I walked to the end of the driveway and back
My close friend, Marcia called last Fri asked if I could come dog sit my 'buddy boy' Tage today for couple of hrs. She'll be picking me up at 8:45, bringing my lunch he loves tuna fish/petite carrots/ apple
The rest of my day read NYT, may go for another walk this afternoon before the rain comes
It's going to unseasonably warm temps in mid 50's

Good Morning, Everyone. 🤗 🌻 :coffee:

It's a lovely morning and should be a very nice day as the high is in the low 60'sF today. We keep the tops of most of the windows in the house uncovered and, as there are lots of trees around us, it's a bit like living in a tree house, especially in the living room. I was petting the dog good morning and noticed how beautiful it is outside this morning. :)

Today husband and I will take a scooter ride to the pharmacy and the dollar store so I can pick up some socks with which to make Barbie clothes.

Hoping everyone is feeling good today. :)

Positive, healing thoughts for @Pappy ❤️
