How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

Did three loads of laundry. Have towels and sheets to conquer next.

Had such a great time yesterday. My DIL doesn't come often so I was so delighted she was here. Finished pizza and ice cream cake which went over Big! They shopped groceries for me, too. Grandson loves playing with his dad's toys which I have a closet full of.

Worried about price of toys which are mostly, of course, made in China, Vietnam.

I will read and chill rest of day

Castor oil / Poultice with a Velcro Belt can provide natural relief for back pain and stiffness. The anti-inflammatory properties of castor oil can help reduce inflammation in the muscles and tissues surrounding the spine. Plus, Its warming sensation can promote blood flow and relax tense muscles. The Tense muscles not relaxing can be a real nervous thing too.

Sometimes we forget simple remedies that can help lots. Sort of get all wrapped up in Mod. Meds too much? $10 a bottle here.

Our son had a Neck stinger injury and after the Docs etc, the Castor oil Poultice cured him of all the pain and tenseness of the muscles.
Sometimes it requires help to apply it depending on the situation.

I use TENS for my stubborn right knee from 35 years of golf. Left-handed, ... had to learn right-handed golf too. ... Lol

I rode my 250 out the backroads that are adjacent to the Craters of the Moon. It was sunny and pleasant and the desert roads and trails are getting a little drier every day. I did see one antelope.

Blue dot marked my location. Yellow is BLM, Purple is NPS, in this case COM National Monument.

I drove most of the day (the last 1/3 in pouring rain); got to my daughter’s safely

Love driving the back roads in N GA. Kind of a cross between J Denver’s “country roads” and what I used to see in Lexington, KY…. Rolling farm land, often blanket-stitched with neat wooden fences…. The lacy elegance of blooming dogwoods…. Gracious homes in the towns. If it hadn’t been pouring rain, I’d have taken some pics

One place near my daughters made me laugh.. storage units, with the sign by the road “Outta Space” storage 😆

My Wife had 2 of those of the lower back and had surgery 2 years ago. it was a hard summer for her, 2023. She had
one of the finest women surgeons in the St. Louis area. There were problems with healing too.

She grew up as a daughter of a Tree cutting service and over worked in her 30's with that enterprise. She is doing
well but those 3 surgeries were hell for her to endure too. She Uses the poultices for other aches now. Aging sux.

Today was a lovely day. I ironed my blazer (first time I've had to iron something since August) and went to the mosque with my son. The Sisters and Brothers are so cordial and respectful. I couldn't believe it when I saw a young brother who could be a twin to my middle grandson! I showed him a picture and he was even amazed. He, my son and I had fun interactions and took photos together. I sent two to my grandson. He was amazed too.

I also met (in person) Sister F, my son's "intended" for the first time. She and her daughter are up here from N.C. Her daughter is a bright special needs young lady with a high spirited personality. I really like how Sis F is with her. After the mosque, we went to a halal restaurant in Newark, N.J. owned by a Muslim friend of my (late) husband.

I was disappointed that they didn't have crab cakes and the salmon cakes substitute wasn't anything to write home about. The potato salad and cabbage were good; the fried broccoli appetizers and corn muffin were excellent. We had to pass the airport a couple of times when we dropped Sis F and her daughter at her brother's house and headed home. I love seeing the planes coming in for landings.

My son honored my wishes and stopped at the supermarket to pick up some Haagen Daz rum raisin ice cream. At first he thought that would not happen today, promising to pick some up tomorrow. We were both obviously tired and yawned so much in the car. I haven't even had my ice cream yet. After I changed clothes and ran the dishwasher, I took a long nap. I'm going to eat a snack, take my meds, have some ice cream and if my cat lets me, 😸 I'll be back to catch up with posts here on the forum.

I hope everyone has a good, restful night.

Another gloriously sunny morning here at 7am 🌞🌞🌞🌞🌷🌻

I've been up about 1/2 an hour because the fence panels are supposed to be being delivered between now and the next hour ..I've only had 3 hours sleep...🥱🥱

Well I could well have stayed in bed until 8.30am instead of 6.30.. because the fence panels have only just been delivered a few minutes ago... at 9am...

It's going to be another long sunny day, so I'll want to go out, but I'm too tired at the moment . I think I'll go and get an hour or 2 nap.. and go out later maybe..

I finally got out of the hospital at 9.30 on Sunday morning with 20 stitches in my finger, initially they said I was going to lose my finger nail but thanks to my blood thinning meds it drained well.
Be careful out there folks things can go pear shaped in an instant...

You have some nice embroidery to sport for a while. Please take it easy and allow it to heal.properly.

After much procrastination I have completed my income tax returns three different ways. When all was said and done my finances are now so simple that the 1040SR actually covers everything. I just don't have enough itemized deductions and oddball income sources to gain from anything else any more.

SR as in "Senior." Wow, suddenly I feel old.

So I fired off both Federal and State and they've been accepted. Getting only peanuts back, but at least that means I didn't provide them with much of an interest-free loan last year.

One less weight off my mind for another year.

OMG!! I didn't read what happened to you initially, but it sounds painful and frightening. Heal well and stay safe. My husband was working a machine when he was a young man (before I knew him) and wound up losing half of his pointing finger. He said he didn't even feel it at first.

I'm telling you this amitriptyline is some drug. I saw on reddit that people use it to get high at high doses. The 10mg pill is the size of a bird seed. So there is no cutting it.

Drowsy...after one pill at 10 for bedtime all the way till 9am, I felt sleepy. It helps with pain, but I can't use it if I am so drowsy all the time.

Another dilemma to add to the list. :)
.

Sedation is transient with amitriptyline. Tried it for insomnia back in the 90s and only worked for a short time until my body adjusted to the med

Not sure what high doses you're referring to in the bolded above but amitriptyline carries a risk of sudden death due to cardiac arrhythmias. When I worked at poison control in the early 90s we had protocols to fax ERs for amitriptyline overdoses but knew unless amitriptyline patients had their stomachs pumped shortly after taking the overdose while pills were still intact that they were goners.
