@Georgiagranny, will you ever set foot in your former store to pick up groceries. Do you have an alternative close by?
There are two other stores within five miles of home, a Publix across the street from the store where I worked, and two Walmarts within six miles. No problem getting groceries for sure. I might go into the one where I worked, but I doubt it. Will miss my friends there, but most of them shop at the other stores, at Publix or at Walmart so will probably see them from time to time.

Funny...when I've been in the other two stores that are close, I've seen employees who transferred from this store.

On my early morning stroll around the complex, temp was a delightful 66 with no breeze
After breakfast, I took the bus downtown to the DMV, I forgot to change my address on my non driver's license. I didn't know which documents to bring, as it turned out I didn't need any, they have them on file. I filled out the form{don't like doing it online for personal reasons} The clerk told me I would get new card in 2 weeks, cost was $6 I was back home within 35min
This afternoon at 1, my friend Mary &I went on a 'road trip' to Target, I still had some money left from a gift card another friend had given me. I bought a 5 lb weight, resistance bands. When I saw my nurse practioner,Diane last Fri, she suggested I get these,do exercises to keep my legs strong{ being a life time walker},the weight to keep my upper body strong as well I bought a couple other items
It certainly was a bit more humid than it was this morning, temp was 86

I'm home now, after an unpleasant day in town. We wanted to go to the gym then run a few errands, and be done long before the rain was to start.

We ended up having to wait almost everywhere we went. At the bank, I needed more than just a teller and there was only one person who could do what I needed (for my Mom's account). I was 3rd in line to see this person, so we left. I have until Thursday to take care of this business, so we'll go back.

Next, we went to get my new glasses that were supposed to be ready last week. It turns out that they were not ready, and were being worked on at that moment (uh-ha, sure they were!)....they'd be ready in a half an hour. So we went across the street to Wal-Mart for a few things. Thirty minutes later I was back at the eye glass place and was told that they would be ready in a minute. Well, one minute turned into 45 minutes! The worst thing was, these are a backup pair....I didn't actually need them today. I only went there because the glasses were (supposedly) ready. Eventually, I did get my glasses. 🙄

Next, we stopped for a pizza. Surprisingly, there was no wait. Even so, the rain started early....we didn't make it home! 😥

By the time we got home, it was pouring! So, of course, our Amazon delivery was waiting in the driveway for us, no plastic bag, just sitting there in the rain. It was soaked...and so was I! Poor Goober, got scared by our car, and ran to hide into the tall grass. So he was soaked too.

By this time, it was raining so hard that Dio and I were stuck in the barn, until the rain slowed down a bit.

Now, the downpour is over. It is just a steady rain, the kind that lasts all day. According to the weather app, there are a bunch of tornado warning near Texas, all of them are heading our way. I'm really glad to be home.

I'm done with my 🍕. There is the littlest, teeny-weeny break in the rain. I'm thinking that I I'll take advantage of it, and take

for a walk!

After that.....? TV show? Read? Nap? Whatever!

The only accomplishment was refilling three pill cases tonight. In a few minutes I'm going to make a quick sugar free pie using Hunts Snack Pack sugar free vanilla pudding (I prefer chocolate, but store was out). I'll need to add a little Splenda and agave for my taste and maybe I'll put some Nesquik in there and make chocolate swirls. I'm using a ready made graham cracker crust.

Nightmare woke me too early. Went back to sleep and woke with a worse one! Slept too late.

Opened my door to find a big, black snake on my steps near a flower pot! I'd never seen one in real life, except for a tiny garter snake. This one is about 2 feet and quite plump... oh gawd.

Called police about 45 minutes ago, but no one yet. I called them back about 15 mins ago was told they're busy. So, I wait. Terrified, like a big baby.

We had a terrific T-storm last night, really loud thunder. My son and DIL are in Maine and I'm feeding their cat. Homes in some areas lost power, but not mine and I hope not theirs. It may rain a bit more today.

Dang, I wish Animal Control would show up!

**** Oh, one cop just came with a long pole and tried to poke the snake into my shrubs. The thing just looked at him. I was at the window. Then he got it into the bushes. He said Animal Control was busy bringing in some dogs to a shelter in a bordering town. I guess it will finally go away..... into the woods where I walk Doggie. 😖
I feel for ya Rose. Won't go into detail now but a snake got into my apartment decades ago! I was terrified. At some point I'll probably post about the experience. Some funny parts looking back on it. A police officer lived right next door, got my key from my friend who lived upstairs, came in (to a dark livinng room because I had been asleep) and killed it. Thank God for Audra, our cat. She chased it into the living room.

Oh my goodness, Diva.. how scary!

Had a text this morning: "Are you bringing your old MG to Poole Goes Vintage on the 21st? Poole Goes Vintage is a wonderful, free event, held on the quay. Of course we will be there. I had forgotten, not even made a note of it, how remiss of me. Let me show you some photos from previous years of the event.

Fingers crossed for fine weather.
Fine weather? You're kidding! It's summer in the UK, there will be rain, sun and more rain. You will need a brolly, weatherproof jacket, boots, sandals and sungalsses. Have a great time. :) ;)

Beryl has come and gone, left lots of rain and minor tree limbs down, now back to high temps and tall grass.
I had a doctor app. yesterday, I changed cholesterol meds 3 months ago and had that checked....it was down :), but my kidney function is not good and seems to be getting worse, so this is concerning....I need to read up on this, wondering if something I'm taking is causing this, getting old and keeping up with all the ailments. meds, supplements and test can get crazy.

Good Tuesday, July 9th morning, SF-ers!

A warm 100° today, 104° (gasp) tomorrow, and 101° Thursday. Then it'll start sliding down to the low 90s. It'll hit 121° in Palm Desert today, so I'll bear in mind that friends living there year-round have it much worse.

At about 8 AM, outdoor temps will hit about 72°, same as my current indoor temp (courtesy of overnight lows of 65°), so that's today's magic time to close up the house and shut down the fans that have been drawing in cool air all night. Will probably need AC late afternoon (it's set at 77°).

Too late to make the long weather story short  but since I'll be having a few stick close to home days, I'm planning to actually finish the cookbook project I started in February (can you say, "Procrasinator!!?" I knew you could...)

Meantime, I'll see what y'all are up to before hitting the backyard for my morning swim with DH. Later, gators!

Nothing but rain going on here. All night, and probably all day, too. We are dead center for Beryl passing by.

I fed

in his kennel this morning. When he was done, I took him outside. It was pouring! I ran over to Goob's house and put him in it, to keep him dry. He started to come out right away, but changed his mind and went back in. (I was soaked, again, of course!)

Later, that crazy thing was on the porch, in the rain, playing the the ball on a string that is set up for him. He didn't stay there too long though!
😂🙃😅

Monday is usually when laundry gets done here. Since I was in town yesterday, my days are all mixed up! I'm sure that I'll spend the whole week not knowing what day it is! I guess laundry will get done today.

I did make a small lasagne and ate some last night. Just ate it for breakfast too. I'll portion the rest to freeze.

81 here, the high to be 91.

@Trila you sure had a frustrating day and got rained on too.
@StarSong , looks like you're in that heat dome now. So glad you have a pool. I keep my A/C at 73.

The laundry is calling me today.
Would earplugs help, so you don't hear it?
