Rain is still very much with us here.. hammering down in fact and very squally, temps at 52 deg ..thank goodness I cancelled that Doctors appointment...

I've got to do a little tidy in this office room, put private papers etc out of sight, because I have the Mac repair guy coming tomorrow, and as I don't know him from adam, best to be safe than sorry...

Good morning! I slept well last night, and feel good, so my day is starting out just fine. Weather wise, we will hit our high for the day during the morning, then the effects of Hurricane Helene will bring rain and dropping temps.

Goober has gone for his walk this morning, and the temperature was purrrrfect! If the rain holds off until after I have my breakfast, I'll probably take him again....it's such a beautiful fall day!

I'm getting hungry, time for breakfast! TTUL!

yes and your insurance is probably very expensive... I'm so sorry that's happening to you, it seems to be happening to all of us in the UK and the US in one way or another...
Truth be told, my insurance is not expensive compared to others. What is frustrating is that the government now steps in and restricts the doctors from treating their patients. This leaves so many Americans to suffer, in pain, chronic pain conditions. Why are doctors afraid of giving appropriate care to patients.

Now doctors are forced by the insurance companies and the government to decide what is appropriate care. They send patients home after major surgery and hope for the best. I was sent home the day after a hip replacement. I live alone but was lucky to have a son who could stay with me a few days. Many don't have anyone to stay with them,

I think @Marie5656 was lucky enough to get sent to rehab but she also got Covid during that stay. What she should have had was in home care 24/7. I am sure she had good insurance, but they decided to go with the cheaper option and exposed her to a virus that could have taken her life. This is what medical care and insurance has come to. Not the welfare of the patient but the cheapest option they can find.

same thing here but Docs are not forced by Insurance companies, instead by government directives . People are sent home a day after serious surgery too.. and as you say many people..including mysef don't have anyone living with them to give care for the time it takes for people to get fully recovered.. this has been a major problem in the Uk for mny years now...

They say it's the lack of beds.. and I have no doubt it is, the waiting lists for surgeies are extremely long in many cases, .. we're; a seriously overcrowded country, with very few hospitals ... and fewer hospital staff...

..so why don't they build more hospitals is my question?

Oh Don, I think you should use a walker or a cane regularly. I fear if you hit your head on one of these falls, you'll end up in the hospital. I am so sorry you fell again. 💕

I've just come in from taking Goob on a second walk for the morning. He's not used to us being out at this time of day (too hot in the summer), and he was thrilled to go again...running, jumping, playing, climbing, etc. He's a very happy little boy. When we got back to the house, I went out to the yard and tossed his catnip toy around for a few minutes. That means more jumping and leaping, but also tumbling and summer salts. I've been soooo entertained!!!!

Now, I'm going to have a cuppa, and he can nap. The rain is just (barely) starting. Maybe I'll watch a movie this afternoon.

Yesterday received 2 shots at Dr, office; Flu and the final Pneumonia. These really kicked me in the head. I never in my life, had a reaction to these!

I came right home, ate a bowl of creamy tomato soup with some mini pasta in it and then the fun began... headache, all-body aches, so tired I had to lay down and fell asleep at once about 4pm. I did get up at midnight and at 6 am, but went right back to sleep until about 11:30 am. Still feel weird and achy, but better.

I was glad to see @Pappy and @Georgiagranny didn't suffer from the hurricane. Did I miss your comments @CinnamonSugar ? What about you @Lara?

It rained here most of yesterday. Which is good, we needed it. The sun is actually shining after days of clouds.

I found a package on my doorstep when I got up. It was a blood pressure monitor from my friendly insurance co. Oh joy!

Everyone, have a lovely, easy and fun day!

I'm sure you'll get the job, Georgiagranny! We've had some really sweet people working at our local Dollar Tree and often they're the only people I've talked to all day, so I appreciate them a lot. You'll be in a position to spread some of your special sunshine to many lucky people.

@Della I sure hope you're right and they call me. I sooo want something to do! And then there's payday. I purely love payday ;)

Just talked to DS, who lives in the City, about 30 miles south of where I am. They bought a generator a couple of months ago, just to be prepared, and were very disappointed when they didn't lose power or have any problems whatsoever from last night's storm.

Since they had it all set up and ready to go, they decided to have their own little "emergency" and let 'er rip today. Ran it for two hours without any hitches in the gittalong at all.

Now they know it'll work just fine when they need it.
