I'm so old I remember when they made "Coke" in the glass, by adding syrup and soda water, and stirring.
My grandmother had an icebox. When we visited, we waited for the ice wagon and followed it until the driver chipped off some ice for us to eat. Probably the inspiration for the snow cone?We had an icebox.
Did you ever have a 'green river'? Made the same way basicallyI'm so old I remember when they made "Coke" in the glass, by adding syrup and soda water, and stirring.
I’m so old I was CENTRAL and yes we did listen especially if it was someone we knewI remember an old crank phone that hung on the wall in my grandmother's house. It was still in use. You cranked the handle and asked for "central". She was always sure that "central" listened in on her calls.
My parents never once took me out to eat but I remember my grandfather taking me to a Woolworths once. They buttered and toasted the hot dog bun which was something my mom never did at home. Then I also got a Strawberry shortcake, I may have cried tears of joy because it was the most incredible thing I had ever tasted. I was probably around five but have never forgotten that.
