Dusted the furniture in the living room and decluttered a little. Searched for some prescription sunglasses I had from years ago. They are Brighton brand and were not cheap so I am certain I kept them. I'm know the prescription will not work now but since I had cataracts removed I want to check if I can get updated lenses in the frames. But, I can't seem to find them anywhere. I am hanging around the house waiting for the lawn guy to show up. He is new and has just done the yard one time but did a good job and we agreed to an every two week schedule. Today marks two weeks so I am hoping he comes today or at least this week.

woke this morning to birds giving off warning signals,,magpies had pulled baby blackbirds out of nest and haveing a go at them,,got the gun and seen them off,put babbies back in nest,a bit of blood, see how it goes,,,im now on sentry duty lol,,hate bloody magpies

My son has unexpected day off today, so my babysitting services are not required. Didn't want to leave Buffy anyway. So, my son coming for quick visit to see her. This cat sure is loved. I know she appreciates it, she would never have lasted so long or so well without it ❤️

Same here. Magpies are a noisy pest....One of my neighbours about 4 doors away has a Huge Leylandii.. and it's home to dozens of Magpies, some days the noise is horrendous...

I've got 80 feet of 6 foot hedging trimmed back today... topped and sided... I have to use the long reach hedge trimmer, and it;s very heavy for me, so it's quite an exhausting chore.. but I keep it trimmed as often as I can for that very reason so that I don't have a foot of wild straggly growth to deal with ...It's sunny, but very humid, so it was hot work out there.

I've left all the trimmings and come in for a cold drink, and a little rest of my back... I'll get it all raked up later ...

I know you're indomitable, @hollydolly but please be careful.
Bless you for thinking of me Peps... Funny thing is.. I was standing on the high ladders so as to reach to the back of the hedging.. which is about 5 feet thick... and the ladders started to wobble a little bit. With the weight of the long reach in my hand and the wobbling ladder ( I immediately stepped down one rung to steady them)... for the first time I did think to myself.. '' how long am I going to actually be able to do this ''?.. ..as you so rightly say I don't let anything defeat me, or get in my way.. but I am also a realist.. . Hopefully I'll be able to go on for a few years yet..

On the farm I got to the point of getting metal trash cans for birdseed……those little suckers couldn’t chew through those. 😉😊😆.

I used them for horse feed due to mice getting in them.
I have a couple smallish lidded galvanized trash cans stacked in the garage. A ten gallon holds 25 lbs of dry dog food and the six gallon is big enough for 25 lbs of bread flour. No problem with bug or rodents.

We've had these pails for 20+ years. They're crazy-expensive now.

Downside is that round containers are wretchedly inefficient, space wise.

Last week my daughter said she needs an air compressor. Yesterday I see someone has this one out with their trash, I take it home and of course it doesn't work. Today I spent an hour working on it and now it runs like a champ! I love free stuff.😊

I'll be going over to close friends Marcia&Dave's house at 8:30 to dog sit my buddy boy' Tage{pharoh hound}
Marcia is taking our church friend,Bill to his dr's appt
I haven't seen him in a couple of weeks,I know he will be excited to see me,it will be the highlight of my day
I have no other plans
MQ, altho' I had a general idea of what a pharohound looks like, I finally just looked it up. What a beautiful animal!

Rigt well I got all the leaves raked up... all the weeding done.. all the watering.. .. I have the OA in the base of my left thumb and it's more painful unbelievably than the pain in my swollen knuckles, so I wear this simple splint on the left hand and it's incredibly useful, because I literally don't feel any pain when I'm using my hand when I'm wearing this. I take it off later in the day when I'm finished working.. or if I go out, but it really is an ugly little pain reliever when I have it on..

@hollydolly ihave a brace that looks sort of like that, but it covers past my wrist up about 4 or 5 inches and the knuckles, too. When I've worked too many days in a row, I use it at work. It's very helpful.

Worked until noon today. Got everything done and even cleaned the big walk-in oven. I thought of Hansel and Gretel but the witch 🧙‍♀️never showed up.;) Lucky for me.

Too hot to work In the garden so those pesky weeds are safe for another day. Off tomorrow when it's supposed to be cooler. The weeds will be sorry.

How hot 🔥 is it? I turned on the AC.

Same here Gigi... this is half way up my arm past my wrist... . My arms despite the factor 15 lotion got quite red in the garden today.. so when I take this off, it will leave a big wide white stripe.. :D
