Both my horoscopes tell me to behave today 'cause someone's gonna piss me off!
🤗..lol, stay away from subways...

My granddaughter gave me a new fancy mouse for my computer yesterday....it's big, you don't move it around, instead it has a roller thing on it...anyway, she said it takes some adjusting to get use to it and I'm not sure I'm going to bond with this thing....lol
I see a trip to town soon, grocery shopping, pedicure and gas for the mower.

I just got an email to advise me that I have won $5million in the Facebook Lottery . I am so excited.View attachment 284927

Got special codes and everything to claim. I will spend the morning drinking coffee and eating donuts to decide if I should accept.
So hard to make a decision at my age

However I do have a date at the library this afternoon for a discussion on new authors so perhaps I will bring up the subject then to get some advice.
Will keep you posted...

🤑🤑🤑 Sure. Where was it when it could have made your life easy?

Been up since 0600, now sipping on 2nd cuppa tea, trying to stay awake. Laundry, gathering stuff to go to Goodwill, vacuuming and checking on what needs to be reordered from pharmacy.

Friends of the Library meeting at noonish.

Gotta figure out one additional anti-deer device for flowers that are fixing to bloom. Went out just now and the day lily that was preparing to bloom has been picked off like a canape from a silver tray by the deer (fume, fume, fume....) More bloodmeal will be purchased and spread but that doesn't help the flowers that grow on a stalk and the deer don't have to get anywhere near the ground to nibble the delicacies [more fuming... sorry, I know they are God's creatures but dang it, I was looking forward to seeing those blooms! The day lilies are ones Ed planted for me and they are special =( ] I have seen chicken wire "cloches" that might do the trick for individual plants but the question is can I find them in this little backwater town.

Y'all have a good day...

Morning breakfast clubbers!!!! Cooler today at 63F...but we had a good rain last eve, will satisfy the grass for a while at least...dunno for sure what I'm up to today....oh another ground hog, big one, was on my back porch last eve....dang it, thought we had trapped and relocated all of them....
lol..it always makes me laugh when you say 'Breakfast clubbers'' because by the time you get here it's past lunchtime in the UK..

The day started off well with clear skies and a moderate breeze. I helped Mrs. L plant out broad beans and replaced a broken gate post. Time for a rest, then without warning, the heavens opened and it poured. We sprinted to the washing line and grabbed the clothes which were by then, almost dry! By the time we got them into the house, the rain had almost stopped, but the clothes were pretty damp. You just can't trust the forecast.

On my early morning walk at 6:40 temp was 46,saw couple rabbits as I headed to local store to buy NYT When I came back watered certain plants/ flowers in our community garden
I had my annual eye exam at 9am, my optometrist told me' your eyes look great'. This amazes every year considering I read alot with my books/newspapers/ doing games on my smartphone
Afterwards I took the bus to my bank ,then walked home
This afternoon will probably sit in our garden since its a beautiful sunny, but cool day temps in low 60's

Remember the suggestion? to put some cut human hair into small pouches that you can fashion from anything you have on hand, that allows them to smell thru it;
And tie the small sacks onto the plant stems/stalks/branches,
up near the blooms.....
It's frustrating when the deer eat more than their fair share!

It works, @CinnamonSugar
The farmers all do it, with every crop along their rows, with the plants they depend on for their income.
Used to use old, ripped nylon stocking material; now that is not as plentiful as it once was ...:D
But any thin netting type of fabric would work; or tie little bunches around the middle if the hair is long enough.

Cleaned the whole house extra good and then pulled everything from under the sink, washed it all, and hid it in the pantry closet. A plumber is coming to put in new faucets over the sink! We get so few guests these days, I have to make do with the handymen. God bless 'em.

We sprinkle cayenne pepper around.

My daughter has been visiting for the past week from out of state. Today we are having Game Day & she and the 2 adult grandsons are coming over to play Yahtzee. I have snacks of cheese, salami, crackers, veggie tray, & a street corn dip. Should be a fun time!
It's wonderful you have your daughter visiting! The games and snacks sound like lots of fun! Enjoy!

Yes, those groundhogs keep popping up! I had to have the back side of my house paved because they were digging holes right up against my house. Haven't seen any recently though.... Good luck!

Congratulations @Mizmo ! I didn't even know there was a Facebook lottery! Yes, please keep us posted! Good luck!

Dear son is here doing the yard work. He took all of the towels from the flood in the master closet to dry on the patio. I will wash them after they dry. There are so many it will be more than one load.

I set up a big fan in there to help things dry out. We will see what kind of damage is left behind. I don't think it will be enough to file a claim on my home owners policy. I have a 3000 deductible. I am lucky that I bought 6 extra cases of my laminate flooring when I had it installed. If needed I will just have to get someone to come in and replace it.

You can make a spray concoction - beat an egg, add garlic to it, pepper and some water. Spray it on the plants. Once they smell it, they will stay away.
