What Was the Last Movie You Watched?

The new Indiana Jones movie at the local theatre. A nice send off to the series, well worth seeing.
I nearly fell asleep in the first 40 minutes of this movie then it got good and I really enjoyed it. Don't give up in the first part. fast forward through all the Nazis are stealing art part that is in all the movies. it does get good.

The Whales of August 1987) 1 hr. 30 min. Starring Bette Davis, Lillian Gish, Ann Southern & Vincent Price.

Two elderly sisters living together in a cottage on the Maine coast. One sister caring for the other.

Free on Prime Video. I liked it.

Hunt For The Wilder People on Netflix
Slow moving story but amusing and touching at times. I liked that it was a different kind of story.

Filmed in New Zealand probably some of the same mountain locations as The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Dynamic and beautiful scenery at times.

Taika Waititi’s “Hunt for the Wilderpeople” shouldn’t work. It’s the kind of project that’s difficult to describe without making it sound clichéd and sentimental. It’s another coming-of-age tale, this one of a troubled teenager finding his place in the world deep in the mountains, with a man who never thought he’d be a father figure. And yet Waititi’s film defies its convention through grounded characters, witty dialogue, compassionate filmmaking and inventive storytelling. “Hunt for the Wilderpeople” is consistently clever and even moving. It’s proof that we’ll keep listening to the familiar stories if they’re this well-told."

On Prime -Plus One At An Amish Wedding 💍. It was pretty good. A couple meets adversity while attending an Amish Wedding. I liked it. It's a Love story.

All Quiet On The Western Front (2022) by Netflix. A foreign film made in Belgium with German actors and absolutely magnificent. A winner of four Oscars. Who needs Hollywood?

"A young German soldier's terrifying experiences and distress on the western front during World War I."

I settled down to watch Bird Box Barcelona on Netflix yesterday, expecting a decent sequel to the original Bird Box movie that was innovative horror about an invisible entity possibly extraterrestrial, the sight of which drove people mad and suicidal. I was disappointed, with the film gory and providing little elaboration or explanation on the “monsters.” Like many sequels, this one didn’t need to be be made…

A comedy series called Plutonic on Apple TV.
It took a few episodes for the writers to get rolling but then I found it to be really funny and enjoyed when they showed courage in facing things that weren't ethical. Good clean light entertainment.

Sin City..A Dame to Kill For.. (2014)..a large cast. Micky Rourke,
Probably Bruce Willis' last film
It was interesting..as the photography was as if in comic book form.
Mostly black and white..but some touches of vibrant color (s)

I wondrred how it was filmed that way.

There were a few of them...anyone else see?
That is one unusual film, not like the comic book adaptations of Marvel and DC comics, but instead captured the real essence of comic books. The overacting of wonderful cheesy lines like, "No... Stop... You fool!" Actors did their best to deliver unconvincing roles in absurdly wild circumstances. But put the brutal and violent parts that will be unacceptable to many aside, and the premise of getting the feel, rather than story, really does put this movie in a genre of it own.

I read the book and watched the first film. Both were excellent but emotionally draining. I must look and see if Canadian Netflix has the new version yet. I hear the special effects are amazingly realistic! I normally steer away from "heavy" films but am interested in WW I since my grandfather fought in it!

This is a Russian movie, it has automatic English sub-tiles that are easy to read. Sometimes I pause it if it is a long. It is a well written futuristic comedy.

A funny yet sad story about how a short walk to buy some groceries ended up with a journey through the universe for the simple foreman Vladimir Nikolayevich Mashkov. A Soviet two-part sci-fi dystopian tragicomedy, directed by Georgiy Daneliya at Mosfilm in 1986. The film had an impact on contemporary Russian culture. Made-up words from the film entered the colloquial language, with some of the character’s phrases becoming common phrases. A spoof on the day-to-day way of life on Earth, it covers such topics as a war between good and evil, money power, and the destiny of human civilization. Year of production: 1986

I think so, too, because I started to squirm in emotional discomfort during episode three already! I am really proud of myself for continuing on! :ROFLMAO:
I gave up on it, too. It seemed most scenes had someone crying or arguing. Only the filler stories (outside the main character storylines) were calm.

The female lead character had her waterworks going constantly. So tedious.

Into The Wild is a true story based on the book by the same name, written by Jon Krakauer in 1996.

It’s a story about Christopher McCandless, a suburban college graduate who, inspired by the wilderness tales of Jack London and Henry David Thoreau, hitchhiked deep into the Alaskan wilderness

This is a story about a natural rebel who despised his pretentious wealthy family with all their expectations.

After graduating university, he gives $24,000 to charity and walks off alone looking to live in the moment and seek adventure .

It’s an excellent movie and I highly recommend it. It’s 2 hours 28 minutes with some gorgeous scenery and fabulous music.

A real picture of him
