I have been watching the special on Netflix about this family and they are unbelievable corrupt and evil. In my lifetime, I have been fortunate enough to have never known anyone like that.
yes I was fascinated by that ''Elec''... he went by Alex, but his real name is Richard... unfortunately Buster has the same name.. Richard Alexander Murdough...No dinner?! I declare a mistrial! Nothing worse than a hangry jury.
I like that picture of Alex (or "Elec" as his many friends seemed to call him) and OJ. It reminded me just how fat and happy he was while ripping off poor an injured people.
yes I think he acted alone. Yes he did have time to shower and change his clothes, the Housekeeper testified to that effect.. yes he could hide the guns. he visited his mother's house that night so he could have hidden the guns somewhere on her property.. that's where they found the Blue tarp...What does Alex Murdaugh's murder conviction mean for the family dynasty | Daily Mail Online
Interesting, I think, that Maggie had not changed her 2005 Will. Was it a fact that his wife was planning a divorce or just rumour?
I didn't follow the trial but did they mention the time difference between the shootings and the incident being reported? I don't doubt Alex's guilt but, apart from him lying about his presence at the kennels, it seems there was little physical evidence against him. Did he have time to hide the guns and his clothes, shower, change into fresh clothes, so efficiently that the weapons and clothes have not been found? Do you think Alex acted alone?
Yes, I'm glad they're getting tried separately. The next interesting trial coming up is DaBell
Glad she didn't do that !!N.Y.judge Jeanine Pirro..
said..(saw on google) "she would bet her house on it..that it'll be hung jury".
I go along with that.
This is a great example of where I'd use the word "mickey frickey" (in my words you made up thread) instead of the other detestable MF word. I'll also add SOB and scuzzbucket. I just canceled Netflix for a couple of months so can't watch it. But I don't doubt ABC 20/20 will do something on him and probably NBC Dateline too.Long story but basically, Alex would act as the lawyer for a family or a person in a case where they could sue a person or company..for huge amounts...and he would keep all or most of the money Millions of pounds in some cases... They all trusted him, they thought if he said that there was no money then he was being truthful....or if he gave them 30k instead of 3.5 million, that's all that was awarded to them.
One family has already managed to get their full $4 million back... but to show how duplicitous and vile this man is...
He took out a Multi Million public liability Policy on his property.. 4 weeks later his perfectly healthy young housekeeper mysteriously fell down the stairs ( just a few steps) leading to his front porch. He sued himself (his company) on behalf of the family and got $4.5 million..
The young sons of the woman believed him as a friend and ex employer of their mother when he told them that the payout was only 35 k..or something like that... Of course they didn't know he was suing himself.. but they accepted the money believing AM was their protector and Good Samaritan.. and Alex M pocketed $4 million of their money... ..this is just one example of many cases.. he also stole millions from the Legal company where he was a partner..
They ( Dateline & 20/20) just did last night. This is a great example of where I'd use the word "mickey frickey" (in my words you made up thread) instead of the other detestable MF word. I'll also add SOB and scuzzbucket. I just canceled Netflix for a couple of months so can't watch it. But I don't doubt ABC 20/20 will do something on him and probably NBC Dateline too.
they're still doing loads of coverage on Court TV... think it's the biggest case they've covered in a long time..They ( Dateline & 20/20) just did last night.
I didn't watch, as I've heard enough.
yes there's that one.. which just beggars belief .... and I can see that they'll declare her mentally unfit to stand trial...The next interesting trial coming up on Court TV is DaBell
the thing is Pecos.. everyone who knew that family thought they didn't know anyone Evil either... they as the judge said in his summing up.. ''They were a very friendly gregarious family''... which of course was how Alex got away with so much for so long, because no-one suspected he was capable of doing wrong...I have been watching the special on Netflix about this family and they are unbelievable corrupt and evil. In my lifetime, I have been fortunate enough to have never known anyone like that.
Yes, saw a clip for that one, too.yes there's that one.. which just beggars belief .... and I can see that they'll declare her mentally unfit to stand trial...
perhaps before that is the case (unintentional pun).. of the woman who locked her boyfriend in a suitcase and mocked him as he pleaded that he couldn't breathe and watched him slowly suffocate...
Sometimes you wonder how we can be living on the same planet as some of these evil people..
The wife didn't have dementia, his Mother does.i still Question WHY did he change his clothes??? and the wife had dementia ? And yet she went to the Dr, appt. by herself?
unless i miss understood that part of his testimony.. just seemed odd to me,,
She fell against the 4-wheeler/golf cart. They say now that Maggie had what looked like a Tyre mark on her leg.. like she'd been running from someone.. and had been hit on the leg by a car..
Thankyou Robert KardashianThey also never found O.J. Simpson's bloody clothes. They both covered their tracks.
is that you're supposition?... The majority think he chased her down with the golf cart... as she ran to her son after hearing the shots..She fell against the 4-wheeler/golf cart.
They didn't seat a death qualified jury best he'll get is life without parole.I don't know, simply because I don't know which states allow the death penalty in the USA ... perhaps they're relying on the fact that without proof they wouldn't be able to get a Death penalty conviction and more likely if found guilty to get life ...I don't know, it's very interesting trial.....
Reminds me of the Kennedy's.With regard to Pepper, Lois, I think she was wondering which of the patriarch's were in charge, Randolph or the grandfather..I think it would have been the grandfather given the father Randolph had just graduated law school the previous year.
I'm in total agreement with you with regard Alex's behaviour in court. He presents as a '' decent chap'' who became addicted to drugs and due to that over 20 years defrauded family friends and clients . He was extremely polite to the prosecution regardless of how much they tried to get him angry, ever the Southern Gentleman .... he was able to sob so convincingly to the jury that 2 jurors broke down in tears...
It's clear he is a No good piece of work... despite his outward persona.. and you may well be right about Maggie's intention with Paul... however it's been stated that Paul was a bombastic, self entitled , self centred, ''child'' due to the fact that his mother refused to discipline him..ever!!
The problem I suppose and only you and other Americans can know this.. that the USA is so large and has so many governing bodies all across the country with laws that are different from other states, and senators running the show in Loco Parentis in essence, for the President and the government .. that it's all but nigh impossible to keep control of familes such as this who rise to control any specific area, where big money is involved and they have the local law enforcers in their pockets as well as the Banks ..
Her sister testified that they were fine, she was at the Edisto house because of renovations being done.Ok.. I haven't heard any witnesses say Maggie was going to divorce him.. !..even in their latest texts they were very friendly meeting up for sport venues and dinner..
Netflix has a reputation for taking liberties with these cases, they left out a boatload of stuff in the Steven Avery case,Making a Murderer.Well. I just watched the whole 3 episodes.. This is like something out of a scary TV drama... Terrible.. I'm in shock that this was going on in real life.
I feel like now that I can't associate the A Murdoch in the documentary with the unassuming polite Southern Gentleman in the dock..or equally the son Buster .. or in fact even any of Murdoch's extended family. ...but having see it with my own eyes I know it to be true. They all need to be arrested , and put away for a very long time and let that county start healing .. just beggars belief!!
