Glorious sunny day... I really wanted to go out because it's forecast for rain for the rest of the week..but yesterday kinda wore me out.. so I'm staying home..

I've put together that new single Ottomon storage box. I'm blown away by the quality of it for such a low price, and it has a really heavy weight feel to it...

Unfortunately it's not Faux leather as I thought but actually pale grey velvet..not my favourite material I have to say, so I'm glad I didn't buy the larger size...

Got all the windows and Back door open to let the house air out as I do whenever the sun shines.. and even when it doesn't sometimes

I've been watching people walking past my house..( My computer is next to the window)..and just out of curiosity I counted just how many people who walk past, regardless of pushing a pram or walking a dog, or taking kids to school.. how many were actively looking at or talking on their phone .. and out of 23 people.. 19 were on their phones..

How ridiculous.

I don't live in a busy city where people are dashing for work et al ..I live in a semi rural area, where people are casually walking past, they live locally.. they're taking their kids to and from the park.. what on earth is so important that it can't wait until they get home ?

I finally finished the afghan my husband's aunt started many years ago before she died. Her part has the professional touch my part has the novice touch but I hung in there.
The reason it took so long is that the yarn was not found until my mother in law passed away years later when they were cleaning her house.
I finished watching 'This is Us' last night. I tried to watch the Superbowl but.......no.

It's beautiful!

Life just gets better and better , oh well.

Cardiologist appointment this afternoon is canceled. Now they want a CT scan with contrast before rescheduling the appointment.

Bad enough being slowly dragged through the "big donut" like that unable to twitch a hair, the IV contrast dye requires fasting and makes most people pretty sick. On top of that they usually expect you to chug down a good amount of the contrast media as well, so even sicker. I should be glad they don't want rectal contrast injection as well for this scan. :ROFLMAO: Then you get to sit around and be monitored to make sure the dye doesn't kill you.

... you may feel some effects when the dye is injected into the IV line. These effects include a flushing sensation, a salty or metallic taste in the mouth, a brief headache, or nausea and/or vomiting. These effects usually last for a few moments.

So all in all, quite a holiday! A little like being made into Captain America, but with none of the benefits.

I suppose this is what karma tastes like.

I have had CT with contrast a couple of times... it's no biggie... c'mon pull yer big boy pants up....:sneaky:...then afterwards you have to sit and wait for 15 minutes before leaving ..so what ?

Just get on and do what needs to be done as soon as you can...remember you could be living in the Uk and have to wait a year for your appointment, think yourself lucky...

Thanks Mom. :ROFLMAO:

Sorry dillatante!

Today I have been sorting through my wardrobes with the intention of getting rid of lots of things that I no longer want or wear but, so far, not making much progress as there is very little I don't like. :(
you know that's a real problem...seriously.. I have that too. I mean I give regularly, in fact there's yet another bag downstairs waiting to go, and I really want to cut back even more, but I like everything, and an awful lot of it still have their tags on.. I just have too much stuff, .

We buy things we like but do we actually wear them?
The fit, the color, something doesn't make us feel great when we wear it. I had to part with those things and hope someone else loves to wear it.

These aren't phones, they're "life support machines." I've heard many people say that they couldn't live without their phones, so that is why they need them 24/7. Now, if you wanted to kill one of them, just steal their phone and they'll snuff it. The worst that can happen is that you'll be reprimanded for pinching a phone.:devilish:

haha... good thinking Maestro... I have a few people whose phones I'd like to steal...:sneaky:

That is disturbing news about those phone"addicts"- well I shouldn't say that about them-it is just that I think an addiction is something we really want to stop doing, but can't. And I think it is dangerous to be using a phone, while walking anywhere there is a lot of traffic, or while driving.

Interesting that 23 people walked past your house HollyDolly- I haven't seen that many people on my road since when my husband died. Many had to park on the road so the road supervisor put up a lot of cones to let other people know to slow down around the bend near me.

I know you will be fine with dealing with the medical issue you mentioned ,Holly, and I will pray for you. It is amazing how much medical care has truly advanced.

Today I am doing some paperwork, and cooking spare ribs in Sweet Baby Ray sauce, with collard greens and buttermilk red mashed potatoes , ( Bob Evans potatoes) and apple sauce and Also a great veggie -Batchelors marrow peas from Dublin! I like them more than regular American peas and I put some of them into a macaroni and shrimp salad yesterday for a dinner we had at my church.

I never tried their canned version, these are their dried peas. I might make a Bundt cake too.

I seem to always have quite a "TO DO" list.

Someone here mentioned carpal tunnel syndrome. (I think it was today) .I have carpal syndrome myself and bought a small vibrator at amazon for my feet ( severe pronation) but I think it has helped with the CTS. It is small and odd looking and only $14.99.
One of the Bone Builders exercises I do involves weights 1-2 pounds , to help my wrists and that helps the CTS too.

Road supervisor ?

My road is actually quite busy because it's a road leading to the Main road which is only a 2 lane road ( B road) through the woods which ultimately leads to the Arterial roads to the Motorways ... so a lot of people walking around, a lot of cars using it as a cut through... and of course there's a school nearby so children and parents walking past 4 times a day

Thank you for your best wishes, very much appreciated 🧡

Oh my, I never had such a reaction to vaccinations before in my life. I had 3 at once. I have body aches, sniffles, cough a big headache, Oh, never mind the arm that took two.
Rose, I don’t know if it’s accurate but senior friends have had reactions when they had more than one type of shot at a time. It doesn’t seem to bother younger people. I decided to make two trips rather than risk it. We can’t get RSV here so there wouldn’t be a third trip.
Agree with Jules. I had a severe reaction to multiple vaccinations a while back and since then I refuse to have more than one vax at a time. I don't care about official recommendations, I now space vaxes apart by at least a few weeks.
