Newsweek reports United States is the 2nd most hated country in the world

Sorry @smiley, but we're not quite in the same government club ;). We have a representative republic where the President is elected directly by the people & not appointed by Congress.
We also have the Electoral College which really confuses a lot of non-Americans.

Makes no difference to me, most people hate us but would give anything to become an American! Second comment, I trust very little I read in News Week...

I'm sad but not surprised that other nations hate us at this juncture.

:(
Cheer up. Australians don't hate Americans.
In fact, we love them when they visit us, and we tease them good naturedly.
We only do that to people we actually like.

I'm looking at that map and wondering what Italy did to be hated. Also, Germany has been ranked the most admired country recently as well.

really?..I'd not heard that about Germany, they've got massive problems with immigrant crime currently... as does poor Sweden who have now locked the doors ... I think the German thing has to be historical.. those horrendous wars , are a hard pill still to swallow for many people... altho' in saying that , Japan in many ways was as bad , and they're not universally hated as a nation...

I've not looked at the map, but I'm surprised like you that Italy is on there.. we love Italy in this country.. and they love us, as you know we have a huge Italian immigrant population...

This is what the "Brave" browsers AI has to say on the subject. Leo says :

Some people around the world view the US as arrogant and exceptionalist, with a sense that the country believes it is superior to others and has a right to impose its will on the rest of the world. This perception is often fueled by the US's:

  • Unilateralism: The US has a history of acting unilaterally, without consulting or coordinating with other countries.
  • Military interventions: The US has a history of military interventions, often without a clear plan or exit strategy.
  • Economic dominance: The US has a significant economic advantage over many other countries, which can lead to a sense of arrogance and entitlement.
These factors have led to widespread criticism and resentment, particularly among countries that feel marginalized or ignored by the US. Many people view the US as a symbol of imperialism, and its actions as a form of cultural and economic imperialism.

I didn't ''conveniently'' leaving anything out

Persecution? .. and Politics ?... comes under the same thing as far I'm concerned ..and that's Poverty...those who live in poverty stricken countries, countries who are at war with their neighbours..all come under the same umbrella.. of poverty...

people from India.. The Middle East, the African continent.. Russia.. Ukraine.. all living in dire circumstances in some instances... .. but they come to all western countries not just the USA

The UK has a massive immigrant population for it's size... In fact our immigrant numbers are actually larger than the USA...the uk.. stands at almost 17 % of the population.. that they know of.. and very likely a good deal more...

The USA.. has an immigrant population of 14 %...

So we could argue that by those percetages that ''Everybody wants to be British''... but of course that wouldn't be the case they just come for a better life !
Will you please give official links you base your numbers on? Thank you.

Considering UK's colonial history and immigration laws regarding citizens of current and former colonies some jump to the opportunity. Many use their UK citizenship once they have it to jump on. Immigration and its applications is an interesting subject once you know the rules.

There are dual citizen rights and recognition between Oz and various other countries including UK - so I carry both Oz and Uk passports when traveling to Europe and beyond

I can see that. I'm a vet and not the patriotic type I once was. I just live here and won't defend the country anymore in arguments or attacks. I'm not putting my hand on my chest or doing any of that crap again.
And I hope you share that with all your customers! Of course, soon after you would go broke... Do you actually think that your being a Vet is not tied to the overall success of America?

Or maybe adjusted to determine what does or doesn't fail.

For decades, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has been unaccountable to taxpayers as it funnels massive sums of money to the ridiculous — and, in many cases, malicious — pet projects of entrenched bureaucrats, with next-to-no oversight.

Here are only a few examples of the WASTE and ABUSE:

$1.5 million to “advance diversity equity and inclusion in Serbia’s workplaces and business communities”
$70,000 for production of a “DEI musical” in Ireland
$2.5 million for electric vehicles for Vietnam
$47,000 for a “transgender opera” in Colombia
$32,000 for a “transgender comic book” in Peru
$2 million for sex changes and “LGBT activism” in Guatemala
$6 million to fund tourism in Egypt
Hundreds of thousands of dollars for a non-profit linked to designated terrorist organizations — even AFTER an inspector general launched an investigation
Millions to EcoHealth Alliance — which was involved in research at the Wuhan lab
“Hundreds of thousands of meals that went to al Qaeda-affiliated fighters in Syria”
Funding to print “personalized” contraceptives birth control devices in developing countries
Hundreds of millions of dollars to fund “irrigation canals, farming equipment, and even fertilizer used to support the unprecedented poppy cultivation and heroin production in Afghanistan,” benefiting the Taliban
The list literally goes on and on — and it has all been happening for decades.

Under President Trump, the waste, fraud, and abuse ENDS NOW.

I like taking a step back to evaluate what exactly tax dollars are actually doing.

Do you have info to support continuing to waste tax dollars.
Actually most of those things are not true but lies is pretty much what this administration does but then again you can not lie to those who want lies .

$32000. A DROP in the ocean compared to what they're wasting on other nonsense they're NOT telling us about. This is a smokescreen for the gullible.
